Cold Case Investigation

Suspect possibly escaped to Mexico

ROMA - Lieutenant Rafael Aguirre is re-opening the murder case of a Starr County jailer.

Jonetta Solis was murdered August 11, 1995. Police believe a man named Pedro Rodriguez is the man who did it.

Aguirre says the death and disappearance of a witness caused the case to go cold, but he hopes to change that for Solis' family.

"Up to this day, they're still grieving, they still want justice," he says.

Police believe Rodriguez escaped into Mexico, so they've asked Mexican authorities to search for him.

Rodriguez is described as five-feet, ten-inches tall and around two hundred pounds with a tattoo on his chest.

If you have any information on his whereabouts, you're asked to call Roma police at 849-2231.
