I was a member of a Jujitsu class in 2001-2003 i think. now i still practice but in a different club so i guess im okay 2 tlk here :-)

neways, the thing about learning any type of trick is you have to look at it for what it is, why it would be used and in what situation.

eg. flipping onto your feet from lying down (Kick flip)

used to quickly stand up with minimal effort.

it isnt an attack or evasion really so the only thing you need to concentrate on is the fast movement and the direction.

tornado kicking is different.

for this, you have to focus on the fact that what you are doing is in fact a kick and it should be treated as such.

from the turn, make sure your eyes are on your target, lift off the floor HIGH so as to EVADE any low attacks. and level a kick to the desired target. hight or fancy isnt a part of doing a 'trick' its a progression of techniques

'flipping onto your feet from lying down (Kick flip)'

its called a Kip Up, please don't call it a kick flip, thats a skateboarding move.

If anyone wants to learn how to trick, post on the shaolinillusion.com forum and we'll see if we can teach you anything ok? :ph43r:
