Staff wants to be laid flat on the floor or bolt upright in a dry area but not next to a radiator as it will dry it out.

Wooden sword stand should be kept in a dry area, not near a radiator as well.

Beeswax can be used on staffs to feed them and keep them in great condition.

Hope this helps.

Does it work the same for a shinai, ive lent 1 off Odette...

<_< Dont know why you have a Shinai as they are Japanese training weapons for Kendo/Iaido!!!!!????......you need a Gim!..........but anyway shinai`s for what its worth are made of bamboo and the bison wax is used for protecting all natural wood or cane so yes it will protect but make sure it dosent discolour the woods natural finish as bamboo is very light in colour and some bisons wax`s are dark so make sure you get a natural (clear) colour.hope this helps...... ;)
