Title: Harder!!!!!!!!!!!!!

SI SOOK EDE - March 25, 2006 08:33 AM (GMT)
 .........last two weeks the warm ups have been of a very high standard, lets keep it going!!!...any one taking the warm ups needs to push that little bit more........try something different if you can....but push push push!!!! ......there ive easily got the most posts now!!!!!.... :D

Skylark - March 25, 2006 10:26 AM (GMT)
I dunno I find that if its too extreme its kind of hard to do the other stuff after, especially tricking. It's only supposed to be a warmup but usually its like a full workout.

SI SOOK EDE - March 25, 2006 11:11 AM (GMT)
Good point.....but i think as a genral observation all round fitness needs to be improved 150%.......no good tricking if you dont have the stamina................

SIFU RICK - March 25, 2006 06:44 PM (GMT)
For an old man whose stamina is sadly lacking of late, I'm inclined to think Ede is right, we need more push.

hullkungfu - March 25, 2006 07:34 PM (GMT)
[COLOR=red]I see what you are all saying, but we do need to increase fitness in the class. And as your fitness increases then so will the tricking. You will bounce more. We will gradually make it get harder over the weeks. This week we will be doing the kicking competition work anyway so good luck all.

Jackio - March 25, 2006 07:58 PM (GMT)
it also means that people with no motivation to get fit at home, will be pushed and forced to get fit hehehehe  i would like to make a demand... MORE AB WORKOUTS!!! the only reason for this is i want better ab muscles nd it gives you better core strength

peace

Sweet Cheeks - March 27, 2006 08:10 PM (GMT)
Some one say lack of motivation??? thats one of my many names. Yeah i do enjoy teh heavy warm up sessions very good, and after the 3/4 mark if u really cant carry on then sit out, but it will be a big benefit to the whole class along with getting in some extra disapline for the youngsters. it all good stuff. Heavier warmups is teh way forward.

SI SOOK EDE - March 28, 2006 12:39 PM (GMT)
 ...Motion is carried then!!!!.................increased cardio work loads for all..........now say it loud."BEEFCAKE"...."BEEFCAKE" :P

si sook Nathan - March 29, 2006 11:09 AM (GMT)
well then, more warm up's hey. Could be fun. Maybe. As with CV, i think we should introduce a bit more pure stamina work, punching bags n such, build up the core stamina in the muscles as well as the benefits gained during standard CV excersize. And remember all benefits gained are priceless ;)

si sook Nathan - March 29, 2006 11:13 AM (GMT)
oooo, and another point we need to build up the core strength and stamina for the Tug 'o' War team so we can kick ass in summer. We need more weight, ideally muscle and less fat and lots of it.

Spit - March 29, 2006 02:19 PM (GMT)
I agree Nath, more stamina work on the bags. It really gets you fit.

Skylark - March 29, 2006 09:42 PM (GMT)
Lets have some more interesting exercises, real unusual ones because I find often rather than getting really tired I get a little bored so maybe do some more unusual ones like Budokun exercises (if y'all know what that is)

SI SOOK EDE - March 30, 2006 01:37 PM (GMT)
 ...........hmmmmm budokun???...never heard of that through out my japanese training!??..........do you possibly mean budoKAN?!....various light excersises...with deep breathing almost medative...(lol is that a word!!) very much like pilates..........anyone from the W.B.K care to add there two penny`s worth?

Skylark - March 30, 2006 07:43 PM (GMT)
I dunno about the meditative part but all I know is that there are exercises like the downwards dog and brazillian, i have a magazine with some on, shall i bring it one week?

Chriswiththeduck - March 30, 2006 07:50 PM (GMT)
wat about the idea of music, something fast or traditonal or have i jst come up with another rubbish idea?

crazy banana - March 30, 2006 08:06 PM (GMT)
Yeh bring the magazine in, it'll be cool!!

SI SOOK EDE - March 30, 2006 08:23 PM (GMT)
:P .........magasines with "BRAZILLIANS" in :P ...........i think my sides have split!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!POST OF THE DAY!!!!!!

si sook Nathan - March 30, 2006 11:27 PM (GMT)
tell me about it, an excercise called the brazzilian, what kind of magasine is this, do we have to restrict it to the seniors??

Skylark - March 31, 2006 11:57 AM (GMT)
Haha no it's 'Men's Fitness' :P and i like the music idea

si sook Nathan - March 31, 2006 12:52 PM (GMT)
ah, mens fitness, i sometimes read that myself.

cough cough,

tornado - March 31, 2006 07:26 PM (GMT)
no chris its a good idea to have music when were warming up to motivate us and give people the chance to sing to them self and forget about the harsh training the get

Chriswiththeduck - April 2, 2006 05:04 PM (GMT)
yay i had a good idea for once!!! thanks for that.

si sook Nathan - April 3, 2006 09:04 AM (GMT)
it could be interesting, bit o heavy metal blasting out to the warm up :ph43r:

Chriswiththeduck - April 3, 2006 04:15 PM (GMT)
sounds fun but then we have the problem of tryin to please everyone, people may not like heavy metal but others my hate dance stuff.

si sook Nathan - April 4, 2006 09:50 AM (GMT)
maybe it should be chosen by the instructor of the warm up, granted dance music will be a pain as from what i have heard it is quite fast so the warm up will be really fast passed.

SI SOOK EDE - April 4, 2006 11:57 AM (GMT)
:o .chosen by he instructor!!!1 :o .my god could you imagine if someone was a country and western fanatic!!!!!........my heads hurting just thinking about it!!

Chriswiththeduck - April 4, 2006 04:58 PM (GMT)
what if someone like cheesy organ music like they play in lifts.. grr

si sook Nathan - April 5, 2006 02:22 AM (GMT)
do we have any instructors that are country and western fanatics, i'd say i hope not, but i would not want to upset :)

Sweet Cheeks - April 5, 2006 03:25 PM (GMT)
I think we should get some fighting game music going such as the mortal kombat theme and music from street fighter and tecken (have i spelt that wrong) also alex's fave guilty gear theme. Gotta be carefull with the music choice no swearing so heavy metal is limited unless its in a different langauge....ooooooooo...We need some J pop (japanese pop/music basically) going on a bit of Asain Kung fu generation and otsuka ai lol that would be crazy, some very nice songs on the casshern (very good film) OST I have.

_smithson_ - April 13, 2006 11:15 AM (GMT)
 i like having a good warm up...gets all those akes and pains out of the way :D i think by the end of the year well all be able to stretch as far as we can without any problems...CARRY ON I SAY

hullkungfu - April 29, 2006 06:14 AM (GMT)
We have just learnt some great CV and fitness exercises in aussie. Wait and see you will get fitter

chrispy - May 13, 2006 11:43 PM (GMT)

hullkungfu - May 21, 2006 11:22 AM (GMT)
hows everyone getting on with the new chi kung work. do u want a pain increase on it. we can turn up the level if you want

chrispy - May 21, 2006 11:34 AM (GMT)
you said it was SLOWLY going to get painfull you might as well have turned up last week n hit us all with a shovel lol poor white belts wont know what hit 'em

tall_n_moody - June 3, 2006 06:37 PM (GMT)
Edes warm ups are pretty good, he times them and does very reasonable sets. Low reps spread out over time. :) Ok I do jog instead of doing the squat thrusts but I had the old darn on my hernia and I don't want to miss again because of the bloomin stitches popping through.

Anyway if I can do the exercises after cycling nearly six miles up to Anlaby (at nearly 37) the younger ones should. Although the younger ones fagging it afterwards doesn't really help (put those cigs out!).

hullkungfu - June 29, 2006 11:27 AM (GMT)
they will only smoke for so long. when they get to the coughing up blood stage they usually stop.....i did

chrispy - July 2, 2006 03:43 PM (GMT)
eeeeewwwwwwwwww not nice!

Sham - July 12, 2006 10:22 PM (GMT)
although a lot of younger students might agree with me, i believe that the warm-up have been slacking. when i first started in the beggining of the year i could hardly do the training. now i think it is so easy, it is sad

tornado - August 11, 2006 10:24 PM (GMT)
the warm ups are tough jogging around the field twice it makes me wanna spu up and i have problems breathing aswell so, also y is the duck walk bad for you
