American rockers GREEN DAY have rubbished claims they will star in the movie adaptation of their award-winning album AMERICAN IDIOT.
Frontman BILLY JOE ARMSTRONG confirms the HOLIDAY hitmakers will be taking a central role producing and scripting the film, but insist actors will depict them.
He says, "I'm going to be involved in some of the writing and production for the movie, which will be like a mix of THE WHO's albums and films, TOMMY and QUADROPHENIA
"You won't see us appearing in starring roles because we're not actors. We will leave that to the professionals."
