BURBANK, CA--(MARKET WIRE)--Nov 7, 2005 -- It was announced today that Grammy® Award-winning rock band Green Day was nominated for eight Radio Music Awards, the most of any artist/band, for the 2005 Radio Music Awards.
Green Day received an astounding eight nominations in multiple categories including: Artist of the Year/Alternative and Active Rock Radio; Artist of the Year/Rock Radio; Artist of the Year/Adult Hit Radio; Song of the Year/Mainstream Hit Radio ("Boulevard Of Broken Dreams"); Song of the Year/Alternative and Active Rock Radio ("Boulevard Of Broken Dreams"); Song of the Year/Alternative and Active Rock Radio ("Holiday"); Song of the Year/Rock Radio ("Boulevard Of Broken Dreams") and Song of the Year/Adult Hit Radio ("Boulevard Of Broken Dreams").
Green Day's multi-platinum "American Idiot" was released on September 21, 2004 and debuted at Number One on the Billboard Top 200 Chart and Number One in several countries around the world. Weeks later the album returned to the Number One chart position in the US and many countries across the globe. Green Day made radio history by becoming the first rock band to reach #1 on six radio charts simultaneously with their smash "Boulevard Of Broken Dreams." The band won the Grammy® Award for Best Rock Album in February of this year, and swept the 2005 MTV Video Music Awards by winning seven out of the eight awards for which they were nominated, including the most prestigious Video Of The Year.
Reprise Records will release Green Day's "Bullet In A Bible," the sensational live performance from London's Milton Keynes National Bowl, on November 15th on CD/DVD, UMD for PSP and other digital formats.

The Grammy Award-winning group lead the way for the Las Vegas, Nevada prizegiving next month (19DEC05).
Among the categories they'll be fighting for are Artist of the Year/Alternative and Active Rock Radio; Artist of the Year/Rock Radio; Artist of the Year/Adult Hit Radio, and Song of the Year/Mainstream Hit Radio (BOULEVARD OF BROKEN DREAMS).
The latest accolades came on the same day after the group took home two honours at the MTV Europe Music Awards (03NOV05).
AMERICAN IDOL star KELLY CLARKSON comes in a distant second with five nominations, while USHER, 50 CENT and CIARA share four nods apiece.
