I was going to put this in the Green Day chat section, but I think this could be an interesting debate.
Now i'm going on this debate asuming that Green Day are very involved in the whole Idiot Club thing.
Ok, but basic argument is should we fans have to pay for the idiot club section of the site?
I know that its only $20, and most people can afford that.

But do we not already do enough for the band? We buy thier albums, singles, DVD's, general merchandice and we pay to go to the concerts.
The band being as big as they are today are certaintly not in any money problems. So are they being greedy?

Surly there is a better way of rewarding loyal fans? That doesn't cause us to fork out more money.
From what I can see, the members get sneak preview of things, a message board etc.

It might even be considered courtasy of the band to let us have these features for free, considering a lot of fan pay for hosting when making sites dedicated for the band.

I want to make it clear that i'm not tearing into the band here, the frequent members of this site know I love them to bits. This is just my opinion, and I think it will be interesting to hear what other fans have to say!

I still haven't joined it yet but i am really tempted. i agree that loyal fans who go out and buy their merchandise should get they first chance to see all the exclusive things but i think it should be free to us, maybe they could have a system where they have a code on the cd's/dvds that we could use on the website to give access but i think it might have more to do with their management being greedy more than anything else, they've seen how suscessfull Green Day have become in the last year or so and are taking advantage of the situation. Everyone is in it for the money nowadays so it doesn't surprise me one bit.

Even though i can afford it ( $20 is like wat 10-15 pounds?) im not going to join... I have all the green stuff i want at the moment i have albums and i dont need another message board to post on i already post on 3. The only thing i will be missing out on is sneek peak of things that will probly leak out into the other forums anyway! :huh:

I agree, most of the sneek peeks make it onto other websites so why bother joining?

I joined :D just cuz i couldn't resist the exclusive interviews and stuff...I thought about it for a long time and couldn't not join lol
