With Green Day's promotional efforts for American Idiot coming to an end later this autumn, fans are starting to wonder about the band's next album. Bassist Mike Dirnt told us that the trio has started thinking about it, but won't rush to put something out before it's ready: "We got a bunch of great ideas in the pipeline right now. The best thing I think we can do after this record is not rush anything out but just take our time, and if it comes out fast, great, if it doesn't, y'know, let the record come out when it's ready." American Idiot has sold nearly four million copies since its September 2004 release. It also won the Grammy Award for Best Rock Album. The group performs on Thursday, September 8th on the NFL Opening Kickoff special airing in America at 8:00 P.M. ET on ABC. Green Day will also be part of the ReAct Now: Music & Relief telethon, airing commercial-free from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. ET this Saturday (September 10th) on MTV, VH1, CMT, VH1 Classic, and MTV2. |
