Basically, it's saying that inhaled insulin may offer the first practical, noninvasive alternative to insulin injections. For patients with insulin-dependent diabetes, inhaled insulin maintains blood glucose control and provides greater overall satisfaction and convenience and ease of use than subcutaneous insulin.

And no needles!!! I wonder what determines whether a med can be inhaled or not. I know there is a bone density med, Miacalcin, that is a nasal spray that the rheumies I worked for found to be very successful. It seems strange to me to inhale something to make your bones stronger and now the insulin. Maybe HC will be next. But I wonder if this delivery method is as accurate with regards to dosing.
Amazing!

I have been hearing about the inhaled insulin. Be so much easier especially for children. :)
I tried Miacalcin and it threw me into an AD tailspin! :(

Really, Jo? That's interesting. What happened and how do you know it was from the Miacalcin spray?.
Gee, we have to think twice about everything, don't we?

Miacalcin is a synthetic parathyroid hormone and it really messed with my lytes. Shakes, spasms and uncontrollable BP (high). I react odd to most people...my BP tends to shoot up when I'm sick. I think this is also why I can't tolerant Armour...I don't need some of the other hormones present since this is bovine glands you get all or nothing! Oh, and I was having aches and pains, just yukky, with the Miacalcin.
The pharmacist said if I had thyroid problems it could be what was hurting me. I didn't try it again.

Wow, that's interesting. I never knew the people with thyroid problems couldn't use it. You learn something new every day.
Luckily, so far, I don't need anything but I get my bone density test on August 5 along with my Mammogram <_< so we'll see. I hope I still don't need anything.
I take calcium with Vit. D and I take boron, all for the bones and I don't drink coffee, which can deplete calcium from bones, so I better not have any decrease in denisty or it was all for nothing. Well, I do have coffee if there are donuts B)
