Title: Favorite Pecan Pie

1 (9-in.) pie shell
3 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 c. light corn syrup
2 Tbsp. melted margarine
1/8 tsp. salt
1tsp. vanilla extract
about 1 1/2 c. pecan halves
Prick pastry shell, bake a 400 degrees 5 mins. Set aside to cool. beat wggs until light, add sugar , syrup, beating until fluffy. Add margarine, salt and vanilla. Blend well. Por filling into shell. Top woth pecans. Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hr. 45 mins. or until center of pie is firm.
This a very lusciously rich pie. I would use butter in it myself. More natural. Enjoy! l1wv

MMm...my dad was born and raised in Texas and he loves pecan pie. Maybe I'll make this and bring it over. He'd love that.

:lol: Susanne. We had some this weekend - dribbled chocolate over the pie before baking. So good heated up and topped with pecan and caramel ice cream.

Gwen, you can add chocolate chips to it and it becomes a Kentucky Derby Pie. I hope you don't have a weight problem! :lol: You really know how to eat...

Thankfully, no weight problem!!
I rarely eat any sweets - life has changed since AD!! I use to be able to eat a lot of everything but that sure isn't the case anymore. :angry:

Actually, I've never had pecan pie, but I always thought I would like it. One of these days I'll have to try it. Just what I need, something else that's fattening that I just love. :o
