I called Liz at school yesterday and asked her if she could come home to sign papers to list her a beneficiary on our life insurance (it was the only thing I could come up with). She said she would try but that she is really busy this week...a project due every day and a paper due on Friday. I told her it would only take a minute and then she could go right back but that this guy was a notary and had to witness her signing the paper. I apologized for bothering her when she was so busy, but that this guy was only going to be in this area Tuesday and Thursday. She said she definitely couldn't come Thursday so she would be home around 4:30
She pulled up at 4:30 to her new silver Mitsubishi Eclipse in the driveway and she was screaming, "Oh my God, Oh my God" before she was out of her old car. I'll never forget the reaction. After a few minutes of jumping around and carrying on, she started to cry. It was the most fun I've ever had. I thought the poor kid was going to have a heart attack but luckily the only thing that happened physically was she started to have an asthma attack and I got her inhaler for her and she was okay.
I imagine most of our neighbors were watching from their windows because when we were putting the bow on they were coming out asking, Oh wow is that for Liz? Does she know about it? I told them it was and that she didn't know about it but that she was on her way home.
What a great day!
Wonderful present, Susanne and John! She will get so much pleasure out of driving such a neat car! s#P
I love surprises as long as they aren't for me!!
