Title: Not a good contact! Lens that is...

Well I guess you all already know I'm a little scattered and prone to mishaps: Yesterday I put my contacts in and I realized one was a bit hard to get in, but thought I'd got the little rascal placed. I thought all day: "I sure am seeing poorly", it was blink, blink and hope it would clear. Last night, time to remove lens...I got one out then I could get the other out at all! I just about mauled my eye to a red orb and gave up...had hubby to look with the magnifying glass...nope no contact! I had gone all day with only one contact and was wondering why I could see well! My right eye's sore today...but it is a feeling of panic when you can't get the lens out...almost like getting stuck in a dress ... you're almost ready to go beserk!

Oh, no, did you lose the lens? Glad you figured out the problem anyway.
When I worked for the ophthalmolgy group, one morning a young lady called to place an order for a new contact lens. She went on to tell me that she had slept over her boyfriends house the night before and put her lens in a glass of water and her boyfriend woke up during the night and drank it.

I think the one never stayed in the eye! So , if it stays out of the eye or solution for just a few minutes...hard and crumbling... ;)

At least my right eye feels more normal today...

Oh Jo! Hope that eye gets to feel back to normal soon. Joe wears contacts and over the years I have had to fish out or find a contact or two for him! Maureen

Okay, for Jo and Maureen's hubby; if you can't seem to find a lens in the eye, fill your bathroom sink with water and put your face in it and open your eyes. The lens will float out. It might need a little help so blink a lot. This was what we told people at the eye doctor's office who called with the problem. Personally, I don't know how anyone can put those things in anyway.

That is a great idea Susanne. Reminds me of a music video from a few years back. I think it was Huey Lewis and the News...he stuck his head in a sink of ice water because he had a hangover
