Title: Wierd skin thing
Maureen - November 25, 2005 01:31 AM (GMT)
Hope everyone is enjoying their Thanksgiving evening and not miserable from all the rich good food. I have a skin thing that has me baffled. On my shoulder and part of my back I have an area that almost feels like a sunburn. No rash no bumps no nothing, just the uncomfortable irritating burning sensation. No new soaps, clothes, shampoos...all the stuff you usually think might cause something like this. It has been about 4-5 days now. Any ideas?

Watch for any unusual bumps that are blister like in nature...this could be shingles trying to rear it's painful head! I would start taking lysine just in case...if it breaks out at all go to the doctor for antiviral medicine. I hope this isn't shingles but it does weird things and can take a while to breakout.

Oh no Jo... :( I hope it isn't shingles! I have heard that it is very painful. Doesn't it have something to do with having chicken pox as a kid? I need to look this up I guess! Thanks, Maureen

Maureen, did you resolve the odd skin sensation? I hope it isn't still bothering you... That's how things like this make us feel...drive you crazy!

I hope it's better too, Mo. Shingles was the first thing I thougt of, too. I hope it's not that. Keep us posted.

Thankfully the weird sensation is gone. Very odd and hopefully it won't come back. My son just had impetigo a month or so ago and I was afraid it was that or shingles! Thanks for worrying about me gals! (grh)

Mo, sometimes I get that weird skin thing too. I usually attribute it to changing female hormones. oOm
