Title: Hey, Susanne

How do you arrange to have your hairdresser come to your house? I just got a call from mine this morning and she has had an accident and will be out until the first of the year at the earliest. I have been shopping arround for a replacement and have found one! bdpty They are even willing to order my haircolor products, even though they don't usually use that brand. I know this isn't an earth shattering problem, but it is important to look as well as possible. ;)
It is upsetting because my hairdresser is also a friend...she is broken up guite seriously. She is so frustrated because it is nearing the holidays and she is laid up! She is a real homemaker and family oriented person. We know what it's like to not be able to do for yourself.

I do know where you're coming from Jo - a girl wants to look her best more than ever if she's not feeling well. If I understand your question right, just ask the salon that you found if they have this service available. My salon did that for mother when she couldn't get out. Sad to hear how your friend and hair dresser got so badly injured, especially this time of year. Is she the sole breadwinner for her family? If she is, that's REALLY sad.

Thankfully, no, she has her family and husband to help her. He is the primary breadwinner. It is also good that her children are all adults, but she wants to hold her grandbaby and do things for the family...so it's very difficult right now.
I am just so glad to have found someone to take over for her! Shaggy hair is not my thing at all! Mine grows so fast, too.
That was really nice that you found someone to go do your Mother's hair. At the nursing homes here they usually have a hair sslon available for the patients. I think this is great!

This was before she went there. They had a salon in the home she was in and she was able to go there until she became paralyzed, then they went to her with a bed shampoo. Not the greatest, but better than nothing.

PS I need to get an avitar and signature worked out soon!

Jo, sorry about your friend/hairdresser. My hairdresser is a friend now also. My friend Elise, the one with scleroderma, RA and lupus hooked me up with the hairdresser. She has been using her for over ten years and told me about her and I started with her when my mom was still alive, Lisa would do both of our hair at my mom's house. When my mom died I didn't know if Lisa would continue with me but she said sure. I'm so glad she did. She even keeps track of the time in her little book and calls me when it's been a month. It's great.
You could probably call a few local salons and ask if they have anyone who goes to private homes. They might be able to give you a name.
I hope you're friend is okay.

I hope she is also. It was a terrible thing that happened: she was walking and her husband accidentally ( of course) backed over her. She said it was awful, she just kept rolling under the car. <s> I could hear in her voice how horrifying it was for her and him.
I was just joking with you really about how you got a beautician to come to your home! It is nice though...

Oh, Jo, that really is awful. I can't imagine what both of them are going through. My prayers are with them.
