On Sunday morning I awoke to a bad bout of diarhea. It wasn't long before I was dizzy and weak and all that crap. I took extra HC, drank gatorade and went to bed for the day. I started to feel human later in the evening. Today I've been fine. The wierd thing was that I had to go into IF to get my blood drawn to test all my hormones and such. They tried to get blood from me with one nurse and then they finally gave me to one who never misses. Well she was able to get into my vein but the bp was so low that the blood would only drip one drop per second...and I had three vials to fill!!! :o So yeah that blood draw took about 20 min of drip, drip, drip, drip. It was ridiculous. She said she'd never seen anyone with such low blood volume and/or bp before. I said "Hey I feel good today...if I was here yesterday when I couldn't sit up now that would have been something"
Do any of you have trouble with slow bleeding because of low bp? i've had this before but never this bad.

Shelley sorry you were feeling so badly Sunday. (grh) I know that technically blood volume drops and our circulatory system malfunctions when we are insufficient but this is really severe! I usually am a free bleeder...this must have been a very trying blood draw. :(

I know you drink a lot of water and eat salt but with the warmer months coming we are all going to have to be very mindful of getting extra in when we need it...I am seeing this in myself.

The only time I ever had a problem with an IV was in ER and I was dehydrated. It took a lot of digging around to find a vein, and I have big ones, but finally they did. Sounds like you need fluids, then revamp your sodium and florinef levels for summertime. The sports drinks just don't do anything for me. I take a quarter sodium pill or half at a time to get relief, and extra 1/4 florinef twice a week. Hope you're feeling better SOON!! :wub:

You know I really need lots of salt, as you know, Marti...so, Shelley do take some extra into you!

After thinking back I have had one nurse say my veins rolled and would have to change arms...it's not been a problem for a long time now...

Shelley I use Thermotabs daily...one with my florinef and then I break off extra if I need more salt or eat something really salty...don't be too afraid to take extra as your BP is soooo low. (grh)

Shelly, Do you take fludrocortisone? Sounds like you were pretty dry!
