Shelley's Crab AppleTree

If all those blossoms turn into crab apples, you're going to need help in putting them up! :D That's a beautiful picture! (grh)

Well last year it didn't have nearly this many blossoms and there were tons of crabapples...very messy. But this year it is sooooo pretty. It's been snowing pink all day in the wind. fun. I've never seen such a loaded tree. I hear the cherry trees in D.C. are gorgeous too. I'd like to see them some day. I'm just praying that our apple tree in the back gives us lots of apples. We didn't get any last year either.

We have trouble with fruit trees as they bloom and then we turn cold and they freeze! It's just a part of Tennessee weather...we are hoping to have peaches this year. -cks-

My husband really really wants a peach tree. They are a bit hard to grow up here and you have to get a certain kind that won't interfere with the potatos that grow around here....weird huh?

Wow! You learn something new everyday! We have lots of peach tree around here and most people with gardens like to grow potatoes! Had no idea there could be a problem...

There is some kind of disease that the potatos can catch from certain kinds of peach trees. So we can only have two kinds and both are a dwarf type. I don't know the specifics but an agriculture major who was helping me with my garden told me about it.

Gotta protect the state crop .... :lol:
