Title: Oral surgeon visit
Maureen - May 10, 2008 04:27 AM (GMT)
I had to get two teeth pulled yesterday and I was scared to death. I had IV sedation because I am such a chicken. Last week it felt like I cracked a tooth or something so I went to my regular dentist and she sent me off to the oral surgeon. He said one of them was a wisdom tooth (go figure) and it had shifted or something which caused the other molar to crack. I can't believe how good I feel, I've only taken tylenol a few times. I doubled my dose yesterday and upped by 10 today. Ya know it's always something isn't it?

Glad it is doing so well...I did well the last two teeth I've had extracted. I was really worried about the last one and it went better than the one my local dentist pulled, so, it does pay to go to an oral surgeon. I had local anesthesia and took an extra 15 for the first and 25 for the second...and I didn't need the pain meds either. So, if you are only needing tylenol that is great! {htd} Remember to not use a straw for 48 hrs...

So happy to hear things went well for you Mo. Our son, Dave, has been in the process of having his upper teeth extracted and getting dentures. I asked him how it was going yesterday - he smiled and clicked his teeth together - rascal wouldn't have told me if I hadn't asked! Dentistry has come a long, long way since I got dentures.

Marti are they pulling the teeth and putting in Dave's dentures immediately or is he having implants? I think implants take longer as you have to wait at least 4 mos. to have the posts implanted and another 4 mos to have a tooth or teeth put on! Now , my local dentist said if you were having dentures they didn't make you go without teeth that long so they must put them in and wait before doing the implanted posts and fitting the dentures onto the posts...

Getting old is the pits! My feet are getting larger and my teeth are drifting or being pulled! They say our noses and ears keep growing so we have that to look forward to also! :( ;) But it's better than the alternative! ;)
