Title: I hate it when I do this
Shelley bob - May 10, 2008 03:53 AM (GMT)
Well I had a headache so I laid down around 3:30 to see if that would help.... the next thing I knew it was 8:30!!! Now my night sleeping schedule is going to be all messed up....gggrrrrrr
I hate taking naps because it takes me days to get my sleeping schedule back on track but sometimes I can't just seem to get through without a nap.
Do any of you have trouble getting back on a good schedule when you take a nap? I wish my kids and my husband would wake me....I tell them to and they say well we thought you needed the sleep.
I don't know what to do with myself now. Should I try and sleep or just stay up for a long while.... <_<

Shelley, I nap almost everyday...if I don't I can't function and it usually doesn't mess up my night time sleep. Occasionally I will have a night that I am up wandering the house all night, but I don't have to get up and go to work and I don't have little ones to help out. I have been known to do laundry in the middle of the night or watch a movie or two. Your family is sweet not wanting to wake you up ^A^ The way I look at it, if you slept that long you must have needed it. Who knows...you might sleep fine tonight!

I have been taking naps a lot lately and it ususally doesn't affect my sleep...but I hate to mess up my medicine schedule...now I have found that if I am up too late and get off my usual schedule I have trouble going to sleep...I also find that staying up after 11:00 PM seems to affect my sleep...I seem to get another surge of "energy" and then can't relax...I hope you were able to sleep last night, Shelley. But you must have been exhausted and needed the nap. :) (grh)

I am a firm believer that if someone is sleeping that hard....they need it and don't wake them..!!
I would Love to be able to nap that way sometimes.....
Ooops dog insists I take her out immediately!!

How are you feeling today, Shelley? I hope you slept well last night...
Do you have migraines? I used to get a lot of headaches from tension...still do sometimes.

Well amazingly I slept for 7 hours last night....so I guess I really needed that 5 hour nap!!
Today the boys and I worked really hard in the yard. When we first moved in I didn't know what was planted and what the plants that were here would do... you know turn pretty in the fall or flower in the spring. So I had to wait one year to watch everything to see what it would do. Well there was this really ugly bush out by our front driveway that was just a dead looking bunch of sticks when we moved in in Nov. I waited all year for it to do something pretty...NOPE just the ugliest scraggily thing and it didn't do anything. So this spring it's days were numbered. So we hitched a chain around it and onto the trailer hitch on the explorer and pulled that ugly thing outta there! Wahoo ^db^ did that feel good to have that gone. Then we had to pull up the old weed mat that was of course completely covered with weeds. Boy was that hard hard work. My hands and back are soooo sore. I raked everything level and gave up for the day. Next week I'm going to put down another weed mat and plant rhubarb. It's not pretty but at least it tastes good. hee hee  I really miss having my strong hubby with a healthy back around. But it is making me get in shape and making my 12 yr old super strong.
So after all that hard work I think I'm going to sleep very well....
Thanks for asking about me Jo...you are always so thoughtful

Oh I forgot to answer you about the migraines. When I was a kid .... like less than 9 yrs old I used to get migraines. The aura and blindness in one eye, the whole thing. Well I had an EEG done and all these other tests to find out why I was having them so young. Well I distinctly remember saying I am not going to have mirgraines anymore. I just made up my mind that I wasn't going to have them anymore. And you know I've only had one more since then...when I was a teenager. I get headaches but not migraines with the nausea, aura and blindness. Weird huh?
Wish that worked with my AD, Fibro and POTS....

Glad you don't have migraines now...they must be so terrible.
You have been busy...but you'll enjoy the rhubarb and it's so good that you have a young man to help you...that's great. He is going to make someone a great husband!
Thanks for the kind words...they are appreciated! (grh)

Shelley 8 months ago I was like this, today I no longer feel the need too nap, let me rephrase that.. I nap at times, maybe 2 times a month now instead of all day every day. I was in the same position as you though.. when I would nap I would be up til 2am, then back up at 7am...when I was like this I seemed too never be able too get my sleeping schedule right, and I paid a big orice for it, as you can imagine. Hoping you are back on track now #sz#
