Great article, Jo.
I have to start lifting my small weights again.
And drinking milk (YUK). Maybe I'll get used to it. Worth a try.

I had two glasses of milk yesterday, but to get it down, I had to have a cinnamon bun with each one.

Susanne, it is a good article...just read it. Sounded to me that it is just the calcium that helps the metabolism so if so, seems to me if the calcium is consumed in any manner it would help, if you don't like milk. But then, milk IS so good to wash down the cinnamon buns!!
I am not really sure I 'get' this whole eat dairy stuff to lose wt...lots of articles lately and commercials....not sure I buy it. I need more scientific reasons....

Diane, from what I've read, taking calcium supplements does not have the same benefit on the weight loss issue. So it must be something else that is either actually causing the benefit, (but happens to be in foods that contain calcium), or it must be the delivery of calcium to the system that is different when it is supplied in dairy foods as compared to supplements.

I hate milk so I want be getting it that way...but I eat a lot of yogurt, but it's the chocolate and coffee flavored ones that are fairly rich!
