I want x-ray vision.

Not like Superman, though seeing through walls might be nice. It isn't what I want.

I want the kind of x-ray vision that would let me see into the hearts of the people around me. I want to know whether or not I can truly trust someone. I want to know if they're decent, loving people. Life is too short to waste on people you can't trust, who don't have your best interests at heart.

I'd like them for Christmas. That way, I can start out the new year risk free.

But...

Then again...

Risk is a huge part of what makes life interesting, isn't it?

Maybe I'll ask for a good book, instead.
