Title: Video Technology
Description: For or Against?

I'm against it given that there are just as many debateable decisions to be made as there are "cast iron" ones so I can't really see technology solving anything; also, how long would the officials have to view the video if you consider that some penalties for example, will need to be viewed from different angles before a conclusive decision can be made.

I'm against it during games but think it should be used after matches to prove & disprove offences such as diving. Very difficult for ref to be sure about dive, but if video evidence showed it took place & result was 10 game ban, it would stop overnight.

If video was to be used in game I woudl allow just one opportunity per match for each side to ask game to be stopped and decision made by video. Manager would decide this and it would only be for a very major decision such as ball over line, penalty etc.

Need it. Wycombe gat bum deal all the time. It would have relegated Everton a few years ago too. And heck they deserved it. Refs seem to make too many poor decisions in favour of the big boys all the time

The BBC are just reporting that FIFA have said yes to goal line technology but no to video replays.

I'm for it to sort out blatent transgressions of the rules; Thatchers elbow, Roy Keanes knee high challenge, stupid little poncey players dives etc etc etc.

Basically, Diving for me is ruining football more than anything else and if video technology will sort out the pathetic excuses for men that dive in football matches then I'm all for it. I think anyone caught diving should be banned for 5 games, and their ban should be spent playing for their local rugby team.

Even writing about it fires me up!

James I totally agree. Look at Evra yestoday after 30 seconds he was holding his face and his leg when he merely fell over - I wanted him sent off for blatent cheating, banned for 8 games and fined 8 weeks wages too. An example needs to be amde of these scum - they are ruining the game and getting paid for it.

I'm all for goal line technology. Can't see the harm in a buzzer going off in the ref's ear when the ball crosses the line.

I wouldn't really like to see the use of video replays during the game would slow the play down too much.

Yes to goal line buzzing when ball crosses line. No to video replay technology during game, i think it would disrupt the game and there are too many marginal decisions.

A big yes to retrospective action taken against diving cheats. Massive bans each time, it would soon die out.

Against video replay, all for having a voice in refs ear. Still it's all part of the game, it's just certain players over abuse it.

Against but all for goal line and punishing divers both cost us the match last night.
