"But what I also felt was the amazing atmosphere of the Premier League. It's hard to describe. After each good pass or corner, people applaud, they even stand up from their seats to do it. It's really pleasant to play in such surroundings."
Ironically, the match he is referring to was our home game against Villa on Monday, which saw the worst atmosphere (friendlies aside) that I've ever witnessed at White Hart Lane.
Still, I'm going to keep hold of this quote for posterity. Might be useful to collect all player references to how they like to see fans standing - particularly in light of the fact that we don't currently have any players on board the campaign.

Could we try to get players and well known faces on board. We have talked many times about soing so supporting the caampaign but then nothing seems to happen. Could we compile a list of names we feel may support the campaign and then try to use them, even if its just for a photo or something. People I know of who have spoken positive about the campaign are:
David James
Sir Ray Wilkins
Chappers (of Radio 1)

It never ceases to amaze me whe players come over here from overseas and start creaming themselves over the atmosphere you get in English football grounds. Surely he's experienced better in Russia? Still, it's nice to see a player make a tenuous link to standing.

Thing is that from a players perspective, the premier league probably is a great atmosphere to play in. Less abuse, offensive banners, storming of training sessions. No flares thrown on the pitch, far less racist nonsense.
Playing football in Russia must be pretty intense, and at times a pretty horrible experience, and coming to the more sedate, but not enirely dead surroundings of White Hart Lane must be very pleasant indeed.
The other thing to consider is that only a fool would criticise your new clubs fans a few weeks. Even if you thought they were total tench, most players would keep schtum.

Spot on.
Its a lot easier on a player in england than italy, france spain or anywhere really.
I remember T.Henry making a similar point that he was always amazed that fans never abused players even when they lost.
