Title: Arsenal - Change Of Attitude ?
AMEX01 - August 17, 2008 05:46 PM (GMT)
Heard of heavy handed and over the top stewarding regarding standing.
I went there twice last season and no problems at all with the stewards in the ground.
What's changed ? Have they employed the dreaded green team ?
Also heard police involved - but as we know it's not against the law to stand.

Its not against the law but they can help the stewards eject fans.
Maybe FLA have visited.

Yeh the police came in and were very heavy handed on us today, even at the start all our side stood from row 1 and they were having a right go at them and continued and continued to get us down and threathed us we will be kicked out if we dont sit down, one of the worst stewarding i have been to

I know paying all that money and being threatend with rejection makes it hard to not go along with it, but I'm sure most other teams around europe would have stood as one or even all walked out in protest, I sometimes wish we stuck together more.

I believe if one of the bigger teams that do have more respect ie United away go-ers did that then we'd see the whole situation changing extremely, extremely quickly.

There has been half a dozen of us leave before when one of us has been kickedout for standing, not quite the same effect though.
Stewards keep telling people who stand that it is against the law to do so, can somebody just confirm that this is a load of crap and that it is merely a ground regulation.

You can't even talk to stewards and police, they simply threaten you with ejection/arrest.
There is a lawless zone when you can do nothing but comply and they know it.
