Hahahahahahaha what a complete fud.

Says he's been to Moscow, gets caught out and has videos himself in a boozer in London (i think) during or after the actual game. :D

And I love it how before they all found out he didn't go to Moscow, everyone was really jealous of him!!!

A new guy started at work today...

Me - Who do you support?
Him - Man U, who do you support?
Me - Barnet
Him - Who?
Me - Oh just some lower league team about 10 miles away from where we are right now, so... How often do you go and watch United?
Him - Oh I've never seen them play, but I watch them on the telly quite a lot.
Me - Wow, so how did you feel after you won the champions league last week.
Him - Oh I felt great. Isn't it an amazing feeling when your team wins trophies all the time?
Me - I wouldn't know, we don't win that many trophies...
Him - Oh yeah. So why do you support Barnet anyway?
Me - Well, one of the main reasons is the atmosphere at home games. It's really good because we can stand on terraces, I'm actually involved in a campaign to try and get standing areas back at top level football matches.
Him - Why would you want to stand on terraces when you've got nice comfy seats to sit in?

Long pause...

Me - So how many times have you been to Old Trafford then, I've been twice!
Him - Oh just once.
Me - Cool, was it a good game?
Him - No it wasn't a game it was just a tour.
Me - Oh...

Another long pause...

I really don't get people like that. He claims to love United, but has been to Old Trafford less times than a Barnet fan who doesn't give a tench who wins the champions premier cup!

By the way this conversation is 100% true. May not be exactly word for word but the facts are there!

Thats my rant over for the day. This isn't a dig at the real United fans like the ones on here. I have a lot of respect for you, renewing your season tickets every year despite price rises of 10000% every year and creating a really good atmosphere at away matches! It's just the armchair fans I don't like!

Amusing post. But it's worth considering that not everyone cares about football enough to be anymore than an armchair fan. It doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed to say that they follow a team. I consider myself a supporter of a Canadian ice hockey team, despite only ever having been to one match.

OnTheJib - May 27, 2008 07:05 PM (GMT)
There is a 900 page thread on red issue ripping into him and he is still trying to dig his way out, very funny.

It does if they're not from the area the club represents.

Yeah but would you say to me that you were a massive fan of this ice hockey team and buy all the shirts and claim you support them?

If he'd have said, I'm not a major fan of football all that much but i enjoy watching Man U on the telly I'd have said "fine".

A lot of my friends hate football. I'm absolutely fine with them and find it very easy to talk to them about things that are not football. It's the ones that declare they are "United till I die" and then go "Where is United anyway" that I'm not so keen on.

I enjoy watching formula 1 on the telly and Lewis Hamilton is my favourite driver but I am not a massive Hamilton fan. I just like him because he's English and pleased that he's moved out of Stevenage!

haha, this is a funny thread. I was looking through the pages to see if that G guy would come up with a decent excuse. What's he saying on the Red Issue then?

Watermelon, I know exactly what you mean. I've been getting loads of stick from people like him after the other night, does my head in.

OnTheJib - May 27, 2008 07:25 PM (GMT)
Now the salmons sayin he's got his mate coming round with the boarding passes and pictures..

Although he's produced pictures of reds in red square that don't even match. These same pics were all over the web days before. After this a "letter" from his brother was posted saying I organised the do in London on his RI account.

Comedy :D

OnTheJib - May 27, 2008 07:33 PM (GMT)
One more - He's posted a pic of his broken fingers as conclusive evidence :D

Well that was interesting. The mods of that forum took over his account. He never posted anything apart from the original cover up.

Very funny and clever as well.

I want to write a mastercard style advert in tribute to the cover up but I can't think of a decent last line after the priceless part. Can anyone help?

Set of salmons on Soccer 24-7.

They are the type of 'reds' described by opposition fans in this thread.

He still lied about going to Moscow though it was red issue who had me propa :ph43r:

AFC#1 - May 28, 2008 08:12 AM (GMT)
There's a guy on that 24-7 with over 40,000 posts! Phuck me!

yorkiebarkid - May 28, 2008 10:10 AM (GMT)
At work at the minute and can't access RIM - what happened then?

AFC#1 - May 28, 2008 10:17 AM (GMT)
Some boy said he was in Moscow, got found out that he was actually in a pub in London. Then there was a monster of a thread on some website that I can't get on taking the piss out of him.
Sums it up. ;)

marvin - May 28, 2008 11:17 AM (GMT)
you could tell he was lying - he was far too upbeat about the whole experience. not one mention of the surly, rude locals, the price of beer, the diffculty in getting a beer, being held in for 2 hours....

Yeah, he said he didn't watch the game on TV but saw Sir Bobby not accepting his medals. I couldn't see that from inside the stadium I was too busy celebrating.

He has 29,000 posts on that forum none of them even go the games.

what an arse, sums up many modern day suppoters.

I've got a few Man United supporting mates and not one has been to OT more times than myself and thats 4 times (all to watch city back when we were good!)

Got a lot of respect for all the United fans who go regularly especially their aways but the majority (not all) living south of Sheffield are a complete bunch of tossers.

Also what a tenche forum that 24/7 thing looks, just big 4 bollocks and fans who live nowhere near the team they support.

I have about 10 United 'fan' friends and only one has been to OT more times than me. He is a proper fan with a season ticket and goes to aways and everything. Ironically he lives in Birmingham and has a really thick Brummie accent!!!

United was like an England away in the 70's.

We were proud to have cockney's, Geordies, Brummies whoever as fans.

The media, JCL's and jealous fans all help to promote the myth that United fans are all clueless cockneys.

I've had conversations like that too. For example, I was talking about football with a few people and someone asked me who I support:

Him: Who do you support?
Me: Maidstone United.
Him: Who?
Me: Maidstone United.
Him: No, I mean who you really support?
Me: Maidstone United.
Him: No, I mean, you must support another team as well. Who's your Premiership team?
Me: I don't follow the Premiership anymore.
Him: Oh. Who did you used to support when you followed the Premiership?
Me: I loosely followed Chelsea but I wouldn't say I was a supporter. I've only been to Stamford Bridge once and I was in the Charlton end for that game.
Him: You've actually been to a game?
Me: Yes. I go to every Maidstone game I can.
Him: Why?
Me: Because I'm a Maidstone supporter.
Him: So why do you support Maidstone then?
Me: Er, because I come from and live in Maidstone perhaps?
