Title: 17 Arrests From Trouble
Description: Leicester v Cov this season
john_lcfc - May 20, 2008 10:16 PM (GMT)
Now the word is, it was the old boys who rarely go now having a ruck 5 miles from the ground. 130 police officers involved and a joint operation which must have cost the tax payer an arm and a leg. Yet I get burgled and they dont turn up for 4 days after and take a statement as a half hearted gesture?

One of my tenants had an attempted robbery Saturday before last in which a knife was pulled. All caught on CCTV.
Police still haven't arrived to collect the tape.
I wonder if a similar fight had happened on a Saturday night in a town centre the same efforts would be made to arrest those involved?

I should add that on the face of it, there was quite serious trouble. Not quesitoning the arrests, but the proportionality of the man power used.

A relative of mine was burgled during the day, and over £1000 was stolen, they had to phone the police 3 times before someone came.
No-one was ever caught.
I think the police are more concerned about arresting peoplefor minor things which are easy to handle rather than major crimes, takes a lot more time and dosen't look good in the books.
p.s. Love your spelling of cynical ;)

Is Cov V Leicester the main rivals for both clubs. Neither are Brummy and dont seem to have much with Forest or Derby.

Forest hate Derby
Derby hate Forest
No one from the west midlands really hates coventry that much
East Midlands already have the big rivaly so these two hate each other,
Leciester do hate forest and derby and them to dont like Leics but have bigger games,
That how i see it anyway mite be different

I don't remember much of a rivalry with Leicester until a few years ago, perhaps it was not being in the same division for years. Cov always fancied Villa as our rivals in the 90s but to be honest they never gave a toss about us...
"no one hates us we don't care" - a bit like Middlesbrough really!

Pretty much. I'd probably say the majority of Leicester fans probably hate Forest or Derby more even though we're well aware we're not their main rivals.
Derby and Forest both love to give it the 'we only hate each other, we don't even care about you at all, not even bothered you exist' line. Yet, they still sell far more tickets for games against us than they do for other matches, have a bunch of pricks trying to cause trouble when we come to visit, pile on to Leicester forums to hurl a bunch of abuse when we're in bad form etc etc. It's quite a bothered, not bothered at all.
I don't like cov but always felt the rivalry is a bit half-hearted and kind of just because neither of us had a rival with as much mutual hate. Most people on here would laugh their head off at the atmosphere at a Cov-Leicester game if you told them this was supposed to be a fierce rivalry.

It's a complete split in Leicester as to whos hated. Personally its Derby for me especailly after the fighting last year. Cov and Forest are both huge games.
Derby forest is a much bigger Derby than either v's city but there is a hatred there from both camps
Cov seem to hate us much more than we do them.

Sums it up for me.
Never really seen the cov connection. Depends on how your brought up I guess. I guess the Ricoh might have something to do with it as well, f*cking horrible place, worse than ours.
Forest & derby are the big'uns for me.

Tbh Coventry vs Lester isn't a very big rivalry, although the tension amongst the fans is there. Usually is some sort of trouble as well surrounding the games. Personally i only dislike Lester because i've been brought up to.

I don't know where you get that from, our last 2 league Cup games against you were very poorly attended by Forest fans. If that had been Derby far more would have attended. I would sum it up like this. Amongst Forest fans there is a universal hatred of Derby County while Leicester is more of a personal thing. Some Forest fans dislike them while others are indifferent. I would say I fall into the latter. Wasn't fussed that you were relegated the same way I wasn't fussed when you were in the Premiership. Not being arrogant or anything like that just saying how it is for me. Im sure other Forest fans feel different
