Any one that has been to wembley have you stood when being on the sides like near corner flag . im tenchting my self now as i booked my tickets near corner flag when i was ment to off booked behind the goal looks like im sitting down :(

purpleronnie - May 17, 2008 04:56 PM (GMT)
I've never seen people standing there, but dont leeds stand everywhere?

Problem about wembley having been myself is the whole wembley experience is conducive to sitting.

Loads of daytrippers.
Neutral Ground.
Very nice comfy seats with plenty of room.

etc etc...

Plus unlike most league away games lots of kids go to wembley so people are more aware of who their standing infront of.

Last year it was in the right corner where United stood.

Wembley is wank I won't be going again.

When we played their in the cup final the sides in lower sat. Lower end stood and most of the upper stood. Charity shield most sat but that was the charity shield so daytrippers galore.

i reckon leeds will break the mould and stand

leedskopender - May 18, 2008 09:51 AM (GMT)
i hope we stand on the sides dont enjoy football sat down .If it comes to it ill move to behind the goal.

Bcfc mad - May 18, 2008 10:57 AM (GMT)
bristol city will have a fair few standing tbh. the singing section will be and others dotted around the ground. i'll be shocked if leeds don't.

I was suprised to hear how many sat at the walkers. Always saw Bristol City as fans who stand.

Well I was in the lower corner and I can't remember sitting?

NorfolkLeeds - May 18, 2008 06:50 PM (GMT)
I am sure we will be standing, I certainly shall be. I was at the FA Cup Final yesterday and there were pockets of Pompey fans standing, even on the sides and "up top" I didn't notice the stewards asking them to sit.

And lets face it I can't remember the last away game when more than a handful of supporters have sat. Yes you will get the "sit down I can't see" comments but in the main that will be from day-trippers that would normally need a map to find Elland Road.

LongtonLeeds - May 18, 2008 07:49 PM (GMT)
Im worried i may end up rather down the front but either way ill stand. I have been to 46/52 games and stood at everyone...that aint changing for the biggest of the lot. All the lower tier and most of upper stood at cardiff though and at home games the match ticket buyers stand so.....

pete - May 18, 2008 07:51 PM (GMT)
Im GUTTED we aint going up but not so unhappy we missed a wembley trip judging by the day trip element.

that's because it was season ticket holders only. when it's general sale are standing is much better. everyone stood at palace stoke and charlton. all games which weren't season ticket holders only. alot of fans have said they're standing at wembley whatever so could be an interesting day :ph43r:

leedskopender - May 19, 2008 07:29 PM (GMT)
I trouting hate part time salmons kill it for us standers

LongtonLeeds - May 20, 2008 01:13 PM (GMT)

LongtonLeeds - May 20, 2008 06:46 PM (GMT)
ok so that link doesnt work either but its a topic on waccoe about standing on sunday. 100% of the people said they want to...yeh may be lying or be different on the day but its still a good sign

leedskopender - May 20, 2008 07:56 PM (GMT)
yeah i see that but the ones saying it on there are only a few out of 36 thousand leeds fans

LongtonLeeds - May 20, 2008 08:40 PM (GMT)
obviously but with it being our most popular and most viewed fans forum then a hell of alot of people read it...compare that to another forum showed on here (cant remember who) where most fans were saying they wanted everyone to sit down when they were at wembley...

albiontilidie - May 21, 2008 07:53 AM (GMT)
on our forum which is big and got loads views, everyone was like we gotta stand at wembley and comes to the game about 1000 stood,

but leeds fans are more hardcore standers than us so i would expect you all to stand

LongtonLeeds - May 21, 2008 11:06 AM (GMT)
Im row 18 block 118 in the corner i think. Id be dissapointed if 18 rows of people infront decided to sit down

leedskopender - May 21, 2008 12:58 PM (GMT)
longton im in 119 row 28 i wont be happy if im made to sit by a bunch of kids with them horns and part time salmons with their wifes

LongtonLeeds - May 21, 2008 01:54 PM (GMT)
Row 28 shouldnt be that bad. Youll be at the back of the lower part of the lower tier if you get me. Im half way up it i think. Watch out for me being the first one standing...iv already told me dad and mate they are standing with me no matter what

leedskopender - May 21, 2008 03:55 PM (GMT)
hahaha i hope its the very back row so i can stand anway , all this worrying tho i cant rember sitting down at baadiff

Ched - May 21, 2008 04:10 PM (GMT)
What's supposed to have kicked off at the ticket office today in Leeds? Police keeping fans in a pen?

leedskopender - May 21, 2008 04:12 PM (GMT)
yeah , tench loads of people jumping the line then people who had been in the line over night got angry nd had ago

NorfolkLeeds - May 21, 2008 09:40 PM (GMT)
Don't worry we will stand. Hopefully the day trip element will be kept to a minimum. I don't yet know where I am but I know it's £50 so I guess it's the top end of the lower tier.

It sounds like the usual mess was made concerning ticket allocation, but I hope that sense is seen and the Donny spares are allocated to us rather than being returned.

purpleronnie - May 24, 2008 02:07 PM (GMT)
Early stages at Bristol c v hull but as expected very little standing (if any). Although its sometimes hard to tell watching it online.

Cant believe how many empty seats in the corporate part, its shamefull. Why couldnt they have it the other side so you didnt have to see it, it looks terrible.

Also why have they left the seats empty beneath the screen? 1000's wanted to go but couldnt and there must be at leat 200 empty seats there.

T-Man Lcfc - May 24, 2008 02:30 PM (GMT)
Doesn't Seem to be any standing at all today, although tbh didnt expect either side to after seeing them at the walkers.

Hodgson - May 24, 2008 02:47 PM (GMT)
Can't see any standing either, unless theres some in the upper tiers.

Expected Bristol City to stand especially with their unofficial singing section. I don't watch a lot of them to know if they are standers away from home but expected the lower tier behind the goal to be on their feet all game.

Hoped a bit of Hull would as well.

I suppose its hard if you get a lot of non-regulars there on a day out, so you get the normal singers/standers isolated.

From waht I've seen both Hull and Bristol dont have many standers away from home or at home, which is strange because they do have some pretty hard core fans.

But as I stated before wembley is different is more family orientated and the whole wembley experience is indusive to sitting.

Its also strange that the fans who you expect to see standing are pretty much all it the premiership villa, man utd, newcastle etc...You would think the lower down you go the more standing you'll see, but thats not the case.

Those fans though. They have the numbers. If for example my team Luton we took 400 away somewhere not everyone will be standing. While those teams you mentioned more often than not sell out all of the away ends they go to so there will obviously be more standers.

Our support we have a lot of old boys and in the nicest way possible to say this "window lickers" loyal fans but next to none ever stand. The standing at aways is usually from young lads and middle aged men which the more near the away game the more standing you get i.e Watford where everyone stands. I guess this applies to most clubs in Leagues 1 and 2.

We do have a "unofficial" standing area at home where you never get asked to sit so if people want to stand and have a sing you know where to go and if you want to sit and keep quiet the Kenilworth end is for you.

Also it be easier to get a few Luton fans to sit than 5k Villa/Liverpool/Man U for the stewards at away games.

Of the current teams in league 1/2(2007-2008) the only club fans who stand everywhere is Millwall and (well could be championship come Sunday dinner time) Leeds and Forest (who have now gone up anyway)

purpleronnie - May 24, 2008 04:26 PM (GMT)
I agree smaller away amounts usually means less standing but both hull and bristol city bought loads but very few stood. And at the walkers if you want to stand in the away section you can.

I've always thought that aswell, the Premiership is supposed to be corporate and full of 'plastic fans' whereas the lower leagues are supposed to be full of 'real hardcore' fans, yet there are more team's fans in the Premiership that stand away from home than in all of the lower leagues put together. I understand what the Luton fan is saying about the lower league teams not taking as many away but what i'm saying is the ones who do go away tend to sit.

leedskopender - May 24, 2008 06:15 PM (GMT)
hull are a tin pot club any way

lets just hope all leeds will be standing i know for sure im gonna try , i hope the salmon behind me just dont say sit down

Bcfc mad - May 24, 2008 09:32 PM (GMT)
well having got back from wembley i can confirm there was very little standing. too many day trippers who didn't give a trout and sing or stand. when you all say wembley is a s###hole i now see why. started singing and people looking at me as if i'm mad. best atmosphere was on tubes and trains and no hull city fans were singing

Sorry to hear that pal.

When I saw the stadium was as full as can be. I thought how many of these people go and watch bristol city and hull city respecitively every week, and know what its about.

Spent the night with my leeds mate, and he is convinced leeds will all stand. Hope he is right. He also reckons that leeds have 10k in the donny end.

Not at all suprised to see how bad today looked, and just re-enforces everything I thought about wembley, am now determined never to visit that FLA-wet-dream-dome! To think that hundreds of Cardiff fans who have been away regulars and stood all game every game for years as they have, were probably forced to sit for their biggest game in 50 years+ is really depressing.

I hope that leeds do stand tomorrow and given their bigger fan base it might happen, but there will still be a lot of home regulars and others there from non-standing areas and this could tip the balance, at least in part... probably just end up a lot of in-fighting among fans (this happened a lot with cardiff from what I've heard)

Thousands of Cardiff fans were stood at both the semi final and the final though.

john_lcfc - May 25, 2008 05:56 PM (GMT)
Leeds all stood by the looks of it. And the only standing in the donny end was by leeds fans.

leedskopender - May 25, 2008 06:21 PM (GMT)
Just got back , all leeds stood and like liverpool fan said only ones in donny end standing were 3 thousand leeds fans in the top tier and a few hundred in bottom
