Title: Bristol City Wembley Tickets
Three Lions and a Robin - May 15, 2008 12:07 PM (GMT)
Bristol City are operating a policy where there are no on line sales or in person. The club are selling all tickets via ticketmaster who obvioulsy charge for a service where trhe customer cannot even dictate which block let alone seat he wants to purchase. Sales are dictated solely by price of ticket -

No season tickets holders etc first but for £62 i think i shouild be at least be able to choose which block i sit in not just the ones ticketmaster want to sell first.

£62 for the play-off final?! fuuuucking hell.
I swear when I went in 96 it was less than a tenner.
Lord flange - May 15, 2008 12:27 PM (GMT)
When I saw the prices last month I knew that I wasnt going to be that gutted at losing the play-offs. :D
purpleronnie - May 15, 2008 12:30 PM (GMT)
some are £98. £34 is not bad though, up in the gods though.
JTsBlueArmy - May 15, 2008 01:01 PM (GMT)
For a cup final you can't really expect to pick a block, I presume you can pick your price though?
And as for the price of the tickets, welcome to Wembley, I hate the trouting place

Its not a cup final and Exeter and Cambridge in the recent past fans could select a block.

Ok then, a big game at Wembley.
At the cambridge/exeter game the ground would only have been half full, for this the game will certainly will sold out, and ticket offices surely don't have the time to pratt around with people selecting blocks etc

Hull will be selling fans tickets in person and on line which allows a degree of flexibilty which even our neighbours managed. Bristol City have handed the entire ticket allocation over to ticketmaster.
Bristol City had larger allocations at the millenium stadium and did not sell tickets in the same manner and you could at least select which block you wanted.
36,000 tickets each being sold with a 5% booking fee will generate up to £100,000 for ticketmaster. For that sum of money i think fans should be at least be able to buy seats in the block they want while they are available.

I'm opting out of this game for the above reason.
nick the jack - May 16, 2008 02:15 PM (GMT)
I struggle to imagine how bad Wembley is. I dont like watching a game on TV from there, the fans are to far away. I think when your team get there you best acknowledge you wont enjoy it, its just a matter of winning an important game and then enjoying the celebrations.
When Swansea reached the Millenium play off final 2 years ago I hated it. Sat by a load of day trippers. But you've just gotta accept it for now and try to enjoy the game best you can.
Bcfc mad - May 16, 2008 04:15 PM (GMT)
the only way to get tickets in the block you want is to hang up everytime. our supporters trust tried to get the club to allow us to create a singing section but that failed. just have to put up with the day trippers and there horns

I once dreaded the prospect of wembley but oh my god im still buzzing. Booked my tickets last week £50 in the lower tier just simply because people are more likely to stand in the lower tier so... I cant wait, its just every football fans dream to see their team walk out at wembley.

LongtonLeeds - May 16, 2008 07:09 PM (GMT)
God yes. Iv seen that much tench from leeds united that days like this make it all worthwhile. Relegations, administration, -15 points, champions league and uefa cup semi final defeats, istanbul..... It takes its tole on you and to see us at wembley is a dream come true, for now anyway. Obviously it may be different for other fans and those who are there all the time but hey WE'RE THE FAMOUS LEEDS UNITED AND WE'RE OFF TO WEMBERLEY

Just been reading some fans reviews of Shambley on the football ground guide website. Third paragraph could quite easily have been written by any of us on here.
http://dspace.dial.pipex.com/town/park/yfh...ley_review5.htmCome on the Arsenal continuing to never get there.
marvin - May 16, 2008 09:52 PM (GMT)
considering the amount of time, money, effort that went into it as well as the fact it's supposed to be the national stadium, the jewel in our footballing crown - the only positive thing i could take from my visit there was .... the hand dryers in the toilets. I'm not being sarcastic, they really were the best hand dryers i've ever used. Shame i had to use the ones in the ladies because the gents was bust. Every single other thing about the place was awful.
Three Lions and a Robin - May 17, 2008 09:43 AM (GMT)
I think for a £62 ticket and a booking fee of £3.50 plus postage of £4.90 Bristol City fans should have been at least been able to choose what block they want.
Thumbs up to the Bristol City supporters trust who have come up with this idea -
Did you end up with a ticket for Wembley in a block you'd rather not be in? Maybe you got the lower tier, when you really wanted to be on the upper tier? Or vice versa? Do you wish you could find somebody to swap with? Well, now you can!
Unofficial singing section - Blocks 133, 134 and 135
You may also want to try to move into or out of what many fans have defined as the 'singing section', i.e. blocks 133, 134 and 135 on the lower tier behind the goal. It's sure to be lively in there and the hope of those behind this idea is that the singing coming from that area will act as a catalyst to spur on all 36,000 City fans to replicate the sort of vocal support we all gave the team on Tuesday night. Maybe that area will be too 'bouncing' for you and you'd prefer a better view? Maybe you're just dying to get in that area, but your ticket is in the top tier near the half-way line? How about doing a swap!
Ticket exchange etiquette
1. Please word your posts in the following format:
Title: Offer 2 x £62, block 550
Sub-title: Want 2 x £62, block 134 or similar
Message: Please contact me via PM
Or: Please contact me via PM or e-mail at a.swapper@hotmail.com
Or: Please contact me via PM or e-mail at a.swapper@hotmail.com or phone 01179 #####
(Please note: The PM - Personal Message - system is available only to established forum users. New users please use e-mail or phone numbers as contact details)
2. No profiteering!
The aim of this exchange is simply to allow fans to swap tickets at face value. If you are swapping tickets of differing values, then, of course, it’s OK to ask the person with the lower value ticket to make up the difference. However, if you are asked by any poster to pay a penny more, please report them and they will be banned from OTIB.
3. The exchange
We recommend that you meet to do your swap before the big day. If that’s not possible and you decide to meet in London, we recommend that you agree a deadline after which time the swap is off, so that you aren’t left still waiting for your swap partner to turn up at 2.55pm! Making sure your mobile is fully charged would also be a good idea.
4. The risk
There shouldn’t be any, as you’ll simply be swapping with a fellow fan. It may even be somebody you’ve seen at Ashton Gate. However, satisfy yourself that you are dealing with an honest person. If in any doubt, we recommend you do not proceed with the swap. Ultimately, however, it is your decision and you agree by using this forum that no individual or organisation involved in setting it up can be held in any way responsible if anything goes wrong with your ticket exchange.
Good luck with finding a swap and enjoy the game!

Well done Bristol City Supporters Trust. Our trust just does anything it can for families and the rest of us should just accept it because their families and deserve special treatment.

No priority after season ticket holder sales saw tickets sell out today in general sale after twenty minutes by phone and on line. Four tickets per person!!
A lot of fans who do attend have missed out as there was no priority given to anybody after season ticket holders. Tickets now being sold on e bay although this looks moody

I hope the Wembley boycott will be observed by those supporters attending the play offs, no food or drink to be bought in the stadium. Hit the FA in the pockets, ater they have stung you on the ticket prices.
Please get your fanzines websites to promote this.

I am trouting furious about the situation and how the FA have indirectly induced the situation, as a result of it i know of many people who have not been to a game all year, now having a ticket for 'wembley'.............

One of the problems is that clubs can simply make up their own rules as they go along as there is no best pratice to follow e.g Bristol City fans will pay ten pounds plus more for a ticket due to charges and postage than some Hull fans will for a comparitive ticket.
There really should be some sort of code in place for clubs to adhere to because not every fan possess's a credit card/debit card or is confident using the phone and being greeted by a computer e.g the elderly or fans with disabilities.
