Title: Anybody Got A Spare Hour Or Two..?

Amanda - May 14, 2008 02:40 PM (GMT)
I need a favour if anybody has the time...

I'd like to know what football clubs are in the various regions.

For example, West Ham would be covered by the Metropolitan Police, Middlesbrough is covered by Cleveland and so on.

For clarity I'm not looking for a clubs local police force but their regional one.

Anybody...?

Bedfordshire Police= Just Luton.

Hertfordshire= Watford (maybe Barnet I leave that for the Barnet lads on here to answer) Maybe Stevenage as well if they have Police.

The Metropolitan Police= Arsenal, Tottenham, (Barnet maybe but like I put above it may not), Leyton Orient, Millwall, West Ham, Crystal Palace, Fulham, QPR, Brentford, Chelsea, Charlton. Also I say Wembley

I wouldn't like to say about Dagenham and Redbridge. Couldn't that also be Essex.

Clubs which are deffiently Essex are= Colchester and Southend

Suffolk= Ipswich

Norfolk= Norwich

Lincolnshire= Lincoln City

Humberside= Grimsby Hull and Sc,unthrope

West Yorks= Leeds, Bradford and Huddersfield

South Yorks= Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and the two Sheffield clubs

Northumberland= Newcastle and Sunderland

Devon and Cornwall= Plymouth, Exeter and Torquay

Thames Valley= Wycombe and MK Dons, Reading and Oxford

Gloucestershire= Cheltenham

Avon and Somerset= Bristol City/Rovers, Yeovil

Cumbria= Carlise

West Merica= Shewsbury and Hereford

Staffordshire= Stoke and Port Vale

Cheshire= Crewe, Macclesfield and Chester

Merseyside= Liverpool, Everton and Tranmere

Greater Manchester= Manchester Untied and City, Wigan, Bolton, Bury. Oldham Rochdale and Stockport

Lancashire: Blackpool, Blackburn, Burnley, Preston, Morecambe and (thanks cityman) Accrington Stanley

Durham= Darlington.

Cleverland= Boro like you said and Hartlepool

Nottinghamshire= Nottingham Forest, Notts county and Mansfield

Derbyshire= Derby and Chesterfield

West Midlands= Aston Villa, Birmingham City, Coventry, Wolves, West Brom and Walsall

Leicestershire= Leicester City

Northamptonshire= Northampton Town, Rushden and Diamonds

Cambridgeshire= Peterborough, Cambridge Untied

Kent= Gillingham

Sussex= Brighton

Dorset= Bournemouth

Wiltshire= Swindon

Hampshire= Portsmouth and Southampton and Aldershot

South Wales= Cardiff City and Swansea City

North Wales Wrexham

If me and this Map http://www.apa.police.uk/APA/About+Police+...s/National+Map/ are correct the only Police forces in England who don't have a League football team to cover in there area are

Surrey, The City of London, North Yorkshire and Warwickshire

You also have the British Transport police which I believe cover the whole country.

Sorry if any are incorrect and please correct if they are.

Not sure what you mean by regional/local? As far as I know there is only one tier of police force

There are some little quirks such as the Ricoh, it's in WM but very close to the Warwickshire boundary so I think they share some of the matchday policing.

I'm not sure the Hertfordshire police force actually exist. We have met police offices in Watford.

Barnet is definately Met police (although for most matches we don't have any police). On boxing day our derby match at home to Daggers got moved from 3pm to 1pm kick off on "police advice". It would have made more sence if any police officers were actually at the game but there was none!!! Quite funny actually when you think about it!

I would guess Watford are also covered by Met police as well! Blimy they do a lot of work!
