Will once again become a Class B drug. Now im no user, and am neither for or against people that use it, as long as it doenst directly affect me.

Just think it was a waste of time putting it down to class C in the first place if its to be changed back

Typical pandering to Middle England by Brown in the face of an overwhelming defeat. All the evidence is against him, from his own advisory team, yet he ignores it. How typical.

Against all advice apparantly, what a surprise, labour will only be happy when everything is illegal.

All those police resources are now going into prosecuting people who commit these silly offences whilst the major crimes remain unsolved.

It will lead to bigger problems, more people smuggling the drugs in, more violence of the street with dealers etc...

Just stupid, the quicker you get them out the better!!!

How much do you smoke mate?

It's like everything, eat too many mcdonalds and it's bad, drink too much alcohol it's bad, smoke too much weed it's bad.

Everything in moderation.

Drugs are the Devils work

shrenchel - May 7, 2008 09:31 PM (GMT)
It's trouting ridiculous. The police think that the current system is working well and freeing up a lot of precious time. So they've said even when it's reclassified if they catch someone with a small amount they're mostly going to just confiscate the green and give a warning still, but use their discretion and use the tougher powers in some cases. So basically, the police are just gunna discriminate against anyone they trouting want. No doubt a lad caught with a bit of punk at the football won't just get a slap on the wrist.

trout knows what Brown is on. Since it's been Class C there's been a decline in people smoking it, so how is bashing it back up to B gunna help with the whole 'kids dying of lethal skunk' thing he's so worried about. He's just runnng scared from the trouting sun and the daily mail.

The government should just legalise and sell drugs themselves via pharmacies or whatever. A recent study showed that alcohol is more harmful than ecstacy for example. It would bring in the economy billions of pounds and save a tenchload of problems at the same time, people smuggling, gang warfare, dealers etc etc. The end of the day, if someone wants to take an E on a Saturday night and shove whitepowder up there nose they'll do it because THEY want to. Not because its legal/illegal.

Meh. Same old thing, feeble attempts to get the votes of the middle-aged, Mail reading joyless f*ckers who are all fanatical Tories anyway.

Never mind that use has decreased by a fifth since it was downgraded, as loads of kids realised that weed's no big deal and decided that they could take or leave it...let's start the "ONE LITTLE REEFER AND YOU WILL GO STRAIGHT TO HELL!!!" bollocks again and see usage shoot up

Gunner Michael - May 8, 2008 11:27 PM (GMT)
Most of my flat mates at uni are heavy users so I end up passively smoking a fair bit. At the end of the day its use is so widespread that legalising it would have no other effect than to open us a new tax avenue for the government, which I'd have thought they'd be all for.

Haha, geez I'm not tryna say no-ones smoking green anymore. Obviously trout loads of people do, but in research that's a bit more represntative than jonboilfc's survey of what his mate's are blazing atm, there's been a definite decline shown.

I've just done an essay on the legalisation and debate and it really swayed me. I think it might work if regulated and you made some good points. Sadly no country in the world have legalised drugs and our country is usually the last to do something, so it could a long way away.

Also a lot of the research says drugs should be legalised, but politicians always go in the opposite direction, in my opinion this is just to please the voter.

L.T.F.C - May 9, 2008 01:14 PM (GMT)
Couldn't care less. If people want to take drugs and fck their lives up then its their problem and choice. No one made you start so you shouldn't get help (and waste tax money) on trying to quit.

Whatever the government do they aren't going to stop usage of drugs full stop.
