Title: Congrats Stoke

stretford ender - May 4, 2008 03:34 PM (GMT)
Should be interesting to see how stoke do next year.

And it should be a very interesting away trip :ph43r:

Amanda - May 4, 2008 04:06 PM (GMT)
Nice touch by the Leicester players, applauding off the Stoke team.

A reminder that football is, after all, a sport.

T-Man Lcfc - May 4, 2008 05:18 PM (GMT)
Just got back form the game and what I'm about to say may be out of spite and due to the fact we're going to trouting Yeovil next season but here goes:

I will offer no congratulations to stoke, the thread about our allocations mentioned they had a few "idiots" and yes every club does but i'm sorry it was their majority! Obviously I was livid about the allocation we got (2,000) eventually!!!
But today, their fans 1st half were terrible, delilah here and there but overall just like a library as we told them! 2nd half yes they picked up after Ipswich scored meaning they were going up and the place was rocking then.

Then the board comes up 4 minutes after 1 just 1 of those minutes stoke fans invade the pitch and I'm not talking 1000 or so I'd guess at over 5000, this when the game still has time to finish our championship status all but gone. As soon as the fans are removed the ref blows up. Now I know a season is 46 games not 3 minutes at the end but come on!

Then the real final whistle goes, instant pitch invasion, come straight over to our fans who are deverstated some in tears. WHY? WHY STOKE? why can't you enjoy your triumph yourselves? Why in front of us? Absolute scum. Then driving out a few said good luck, handshake etc. but many others were rouding, hitting city fans cars, rubbing it in. etc.

salmons the lot of them, hope they go straight down with less points than Derby, plastic, pikey carps!

AFC#1 - May 4, 2008 05:34 PM (GMT)
I watched it and the Stoke fans were tench right enough.
Was quality at the end when they were all on the by line waiting to run on though
I'm sure you'll have fun taking the piss in little towns next season though min.

yorkiebarkid - May 4, 2008 05:54 PM (GMT)
Just need Hull up now

ML - ITFC - May 4, 2008 05:58 PM (GMT)
Wasn't to be again, ah well, Champions next year

Blackcountry Villa - May 4, 2008 06:10 PM (GMT)
Albion and Stoke, 2 nice easy trips for me and 2 interesting games :ph43r:

Reppz - May 4, 2008 06:23 PM (GMT)
Lol. The Prem won't know whats hit 'em when their scummy fans travel.

nick the jack - May 4, 2008 06:29 PM (GMT)
Leicester fan. They ran on after about 3 mins of injury time, then the ref played about 30 secs extra. It wasn't as bad as you made out.

Stoke fans do seem like c*nts at times, although I haven't been there. Next year will be an experience for you. I imagine it will be very different, probably a different insite into football for you, but you may well hope it only lasts one season.

Joe Harvey took a holiday - May 4, 2008 06:34 PM (GMT)
Get in, loved Stoke away this year.

piesandsalad - May 4, 2008 07:45 PM (GMT)
It may have seemed like 5,000 but the TV showed only a few hundred on the pitch whilst the game was still in play.

Once the final whislte went there were bloody thousands of em!!

AndrewFFC - May 4, 2008 07:59 PM (GMT)
I knmow we shouldnt criticize other clubs, but in my exprience, scum fanbase.

Reminds me a lot of birmingham yesterday, who from the off were more botherd causing aggro then following their own team.

They don't go away much bless 'em so they probably wanted to try and put on a bit of a show ;)

marvin - May 4, 2008 08:31 PM (GMT)
stoke is a hole - not surprised that the people match

LongtonLeeds - May 4, 2008 10:18 PM (GMT)
Im just too gutted to even let this sink in. The next 12 months will be horrendous !!! Me and JT have just been out for a while and every pub in covered with them and its painful to see.

Im bitter yes but if you have a local team 2 leagues above you and a local team with the biggest bunch of 'f**k all knowing fans then you would understand. Every non-stoke supporting football fan in this city is in mourning tonight

Exactly why they are an interesting addition to the prem. Stoke v Man United, trouting hell :D :D

LongtonLeeds - May 4, 2008 10:22 PM (GMT)
Seriously lad its more like stoke fans wont know whats hit them next year. They think they can terrorise or do what they want away from home in this league and not exactly fear a beating. Do that at villa or manchester places like that and they will get whats coming to them. Im unfortunate enough to know of afew stoke 'youth' people and they are all kids and i mean school kids...get afew people standing upto them for once and dear me

L.T.F.C - May 4, 2008 10:40 PM (GMT)
Stoke fans love them or hate them that Delilah is fcking brilliant, 500 of them signing it in the Oak road end sounded like 10000.

I prefer to see pubs full with the local team shirts than like it is here, pubs in Luton full with Man U, Liverpool, Chelsea, Celtic and Arsenal etc etc shirts . It is painful to see

LongtonLeeds - May 4, 2008 10:45 PM (GMT)
Wouldnt be so hard to take if its the same every week. Your lucky to see 5 stoke tops a week when walking/driving round here yet the last week its 5 a minute. Yeh every club has them but they are taking the p**s they really are

I feel sorry for the proper fans who will get the same things pointed in their direction (well not sorry because they have premierleague football but you get me) at least our classic accent gets to be seen on the national scene now though

I know what you mean.

Stoke to me seem to be proper stone island football factory types.

I think alot of prem teams will be turning out proper decent away supports for stoke though, and as you say when they go away they wont be able to act up as much. Stoke Will definately be the best united away of the season. I know its been said alot, but trouting hell at stoke i just cant wait to see how class our end will look all stood and trust me it will be 80%+ black.

As long as you leave my city in a good state and im away with leeds somewhere then i dont mind. The worst thing ever will be seeing you at the station, being on the same train or watching it on the tv. Iv waited 4 years so far to play you and your going to be 3 miles away playing a league game. :(

Still you will have difficulty finding a pub anyway and staffs police will be everywhere around stoke station. Iv spoke to afew stoke fans today and the manc yesterday all mentioned that game as 'the one' and started singing 'we only hate man u'

We have been due a visit to stoke, cardiff or millwall.

Stoke fans are deluded as trout, they hate us for some reason
Im sure your city will be ok, there will be more police then united fans.

And leeds v mufc fa or league cup please please please please.

LongtonLeeds - May 4, 2008 11:30 PM (GMT)
Southend....and we havnt won an FA cup game for 6 years so our fault

Cardiff is the only one im missing which i want to do but we have to use official buses so iv said f**k that. Anyway im off to sit in a hole for a week or two and let the whole thing die down for a bit before venturing out again

Im no hooligan, i just like a sing and a drink. Our away support is rowdy as trout at the calmest of aways, a rum as trout away like stoke will really bring out the best of our away support. Im so excited already our end will be loud as trout will be all lads.

JTsBlueArmy - May 5, 2008 06:19 AM (GMT)
Im so gutted they're up, came home from work suddenly everybody is a stoke fan <_< and I would say around 90% of the stoke fans are just total idiots who think they're the hardest people in the world, hopefully they will get a shock next year, especially from united because trust me after that game there will thousands outside the away pen throwing everything they can get a hold of. They treat United as their most hated, they hate Vale of course but they don't play them anymore, and now they're in the prem they'll think United feel the same

And am I looking forward to the stoke games, am I trout

And a warning to all prem fans, its one of the worst away grounds going, no pubs within a mile of the ground, just tench basically

That is not true for all fans, there are two drinking establishments close to the Brittania a Harvester pub and a sports centre with a good bar, for non-high profile games away fans can use either, Stoke fans there are really friendly and a good laugh.

Sure they have their share of salmons but that is not the worst aspect of the Brittania it is that it is so bloody cold and windy any time of year.

Congratulations Stoke, the second best side we have played this season after the Baggies and deserved to go up.

albiontilidie - May 5, 2008 08:12 AM (GMT)
gutted they come up as we cant beat for for our lives, 1 in 21 games home and away which is awful so bit worrying about that

CHAMPIONS CHAMPIONS

Standupandsing - May 5, 2008 03:49 PM (GMT)
So gutted to be supporting our team at the lowest point in it's history :(

Hopefully they come straight back down. They were crap.

Meant to be a party atmosphere, they were dead first half, although Deliliah sounded fckin quality, Lil' Group of chavs in the stand to the left of away fans just stood there and looked at us (flcik of the v's) all game. Was pathetic. Suddenly found their voices in the 2nd half, when it was mighty impressive.
Crap support as well less than 17'000 average in promotion year!, Less than 16000 last year. We averaged Over 23'000 and were going to League 1 ffs!

Not a premiership side at all, although Manure coming to town would be tasty, can see sky making/breaking it when they move it though.

Thats Bollocks. Twas only eight rows seperating us and them at the Ricoh and from what i could see most of them we're about 40+. Charged our fans on 3 seperate occasions, tried to get at our players, special riot police were drafted in and have never been showered with so many coins and crap. Kids, my arse. The frightening thing about it was they all looked like 40 year old nutters. I just laugh at the little schoolkids, but these scummers did intimidate me at times.

And i agree about the Delilah song, loud as trout when there is not too many singing. Great chant, must really get the players going hearing that.

LongtonLeeds - May 5, 2008 05:28 PM (GMT)
Read the comment again and see your mistake. I didnt mention anyone except the young lads who follow stoke which at the games i have had to experience with them is alot. They are all school kids who mouth off on trains/train stations and outside grounds

None more so than after games at home when if you get kept behind your in for afew split heads. This isnt in games where they have rivalries its just against anyone. Hull being most recent occassion where they did it.

Last night around our city centre was awful. All the stoke team were up there and thousands of suddenly new stoke fans who even marched to burslem to find vale fans wtf !!! just why...sums them up

that last paragraph I can imagine, they realy are a pathetic bunch of tools.
Really hope united and liverpool teach them all a lesson in the prem off and on it.

Was strange going out last night with me also, went in loughborough (halfway betwee LE and NOTTS) there were a few forest fans in a bar singing then as it filled up, they continued and the leicester fans all came together completely outnumbered and outsung them, the forest fans then got taken out to avoid any trouble, even though they were there 1st celebrating promotion
Then it was just songs all night all very emotional, nobody gave a tenche what the DJ was putting on, we drowned it out.
sorry that is in no way related to the thread!

Blackcountry Villa - May 5, 2008 07:00 PM (GMT)
I must say i am really looking forward to Stoke away :D

Reppz - May 5, 2008 07:22 PM (GMT)
There will be no potential for trouble inside the ground and the banter isn't too great because away fans are in a seperate stand. The police also seem to have it under control most of the time. Its when the Stokie Scum visit you it gets interesting.

LongtonLeeds - May 5, 2008 07:34 PM (GMT)
Id imagine they will split the stand like they did recently to fir for stoke fans in. Why have 5000 mancs when they could have 2500 and more stoke fans.

To be fair geez you can't really blame them if it was our fans that kicked the door down. They all seemed to be minding their own business up that point. I'm sure if some pricks kicked the door down into our concourse we wouldn't warmly welcome them inside for a couple of cheeky drinks.

How do they get their heads so shiny though. I wanna know their secret.

What happens in the first video. I fast-forwarded to the end and only saw bottles being lobbed then the second the police come in. Still if its leicester fans who kicked the door in, the door i cant see anyway, as said above then you cant really blame to stoke fans for reacting however much i want to
