Title: Ejected For Sitting?

tbh444 - April 27, 2008 11:17 PM (GMT)
Saw a strange incident in the Wolves end at Coventry yesterday - there was a small empty 'sterile zone' of seats on either side of the usual netting thingy separating the fans, with the usual line of stewards. Now 3 or so Wolves fans were sitting there at one point and seemed to get into a big row with some stewards and later police who wanted them to shift, I suspect they might have been arguing the point that they couldn't sit down as the main block was full and entirely standing at this point. Anyway it seemed to get quite heated and at least one of them ended up getting escorted out. I may be completely wrong but would be a little ironic if this was the case!

I saw a fan ejected from the Everton end yesterday for standing up and shouting at our fans and then sitting back down  We were all stood and giving the fans in the Park End some stick, he stood up shouted something at our fans then sat back down again, the stewards came over and had a word with him then the coppers came and took him out the ground, cue the old cheerio from our fans

That's very poor of your fans to sing Cheerio to a fan who has been chucked out for being passionate.

I agree it was harsh that he got chucked out for standing up and shouting at us, but he was a rival fan we were hardly going to clap him were we

I've no idea what it was for, i even asked a steward what the fcuk was going on and even he said he didn't have a clue. Our fans were all stood there waiting for something to happen when she said it, but nothing did.

This is how it went...

'Stand by for Operation Goodison' Cue a big cheer from our end.
'Commence operation Goodison' Cue another big cheer and 'you can shove your operation up your ar$e'
'All clear for Operation Goodison' The biggest cheer of the lot followed by 'lets all have a disco la la la la' :D

I was sure it was going to be something involving stewards getting your lads to sit, glad it wasn't like that.

Yeah. I've joined in with similar chants in the past but see how trouting stupid it is now. The campaign is never gunna get anywhere if fans enjoy and encourage watching opposition fans get chucked out for standing. Been reading a lot about european football recently, in so many places even the fiercest rivals have a real sense of solidarity when it comes to issues of fans versus the authorities. Big contrast with what we've got here, no wonder we get walked all over.

Exactly the same thing happens at Anfield. "Operation Anfield"...

Then the Fulham end started singing something about checking our pockets to make sure our wallets were still there

Yeah, pretty much what I was going to write.

But hey, "Sit dahn shut up", "Cheerio, cheerio, cheerio" etc. etc., divide and rule...never been known to fail.

I really hate it when fans do that, had a go at some fans near us when waving cheerio to some sheff utd fans kicked out especially after they conplain that one of our own is kicked out!
