Title: Pitch Invasions
Description: Anybody got pics?
BWA_Ultra - April 23, 2008 02:55 PM (GMT)
There is a big debate on our forum about a pitch invasion at our last ever game at Layer road.
Has anybody got photos of pitch invasions, especially if they involve teams in their last game at their old grounds?
Cheers!

There's a few here of
Southampton's last game at the DellJust read some of that debate. What a bunch of uptight, judgemental arseholes! I hope everyone goes on the pitch. My friend is moving from Barside to T3 just to get easier access.

I never understood pitch invasions! What is so great about running onto the pitch?

Depends on the circumstances. If your team has just saved themselves from relegation or won promotion I can completely understand it. Can't imagine a better way to celebrate than complete anarchy!
I remember the game when your lot lost to Torquay on the final day and went down. Loads of Barnet fans ran onto the pitch for some reason, and just look bemused one they got there.

I've just read the debate on your forum about pitch invasions and theres some of the biggest bunch of numpties I've ever seen on there. One bloke was calling people 'animals' who do pitch invasions and I noticed he mentioned your name quite a few times as well. I hope to God that you lot invade that pitch, it wouldn't be right if you didn't. Is there any way that you can get to the game? Undercover maybe :ph43r:

Got one on our forum too, although, I do agree they were the mindless twats I'd rather not see....
http://www.shotsweb.co.uk/mb/viewtopic.php?t=12017 We weren't allowed on this year :(
But went on 5/6 years ago... I'll get a pic of that asap.

Jesus Christ! From the reaction on that board, you'd have thought they'd murdered someone, not run onto a pitch! I especially like the guy towards the end, moaning about how this is evidence that the youth of today have no respect for authority - because, of course, fans were perfectly well behaved in the '70s and '80s!
I'm going to Carlisle on 3rd May and the chance of a pitch invasion is the main reason.

What better way to celebrate a championship/promotion than to go absolutely mental with the players?
I've been involved in three pitch inavasions to date. Two were Kent League Premier Division Cup Finals at Folkestone's Cheriton Road ground (going there on Saturday for the last game of the season. We've got to win to stay up, so there may well be another pitch invasion then). The other was the final day of last season at Walton Casuals, where we won the league (and succeeded in drinking the bar completely dry!). That one was quite funny actually. We started singing "On the pitch, on the pitch, on the pitch!" and a steward came over, seemingly to make sure that we didn't invade the pitch. We made our intentions clear with a chant of "We'd like to see you stop us!" and they let us get on with it when the final whistle went.
The photo gallery showing the celebrations at Walton can be found

Great days. Glad that everyone got to say a real goodbye to the old bird (and take a piece of her home, me and my bro still have our old seats and he has the Draper Tools hammer...) rather than have some bland corporate thing.
Looking forward to another one at Folkestone on Sat B) God we'd better f*cking win, it's bad enough Saints going down and Pompey on the verge of winning the FA Cup.

I am too well known, there will be about 20 stewards waiting for me, and tonnes of police with video cameras if last week is anything to go by!

That was rediculous. It just shows how many day trippers were there that day.
The season we went up, we didn't invade the pitch we just jumped around on the terrace. It was much louder and much more fun. We were allowed onto the pitch after we got presented with the trophy after the Carlisle home game a couple of weeks later, which was nice!

was a massive pitch invasion at our last game at filbert street, despite riot police lining the perimeter of the pitch with shields and dogs and horses etc.
We were going on no matter. ;)
il try to find some pics

Had a pitch invasion when we beat chelsea at home, cant find any decent pics though.

Posh are giving strong warnings to anyone who goes on the pitch at our final home game, threats of a 5 year ban.... After two pitch invasions in our last two games and the fact that a player was assulted last time we invaded the pitch at home they don't seem to be taking any chances. I was totally for a pitch invasion and hated the idea of us all standing there doing as we are told but the more I think about it the more I don't want it to happen. If it does the players won't come out again and as most of these lads have been with us through the tench or they were in the conf only a while ago so they all deserve to really enjoy there day as much as us...

Looked quality, especially Paul Robinson crowd surfing.
Well done Baggies, shame I wont be going there next year now though. I reckon it would have been a great away.

Congrats to WBA, pitch invasion looked pretty epic. Shame I couldn't make it but not too displeased by the result - would have def taken a draw beforehand.

Am I to take it there was no pitch invasion at Colchester.

I heard there wasn't
BWA_Ultra - April 30, 2008 09:46 AM (GMT)
Seen photos of stewards all round the pitch on 4 sides with police forming a second line all the way round.
I have heard however there was a pitch invasion of some kind at the reserve game v Peterborough last night, the last of any kind of regulated game at layer road.

No pics from our pitch invasion for our last ever game at Hilton Park! :(

Managed to get a flag hung up in the goals though.
R.I.P Hilton Park...

Was thinking about pitch invasions last night and was wondering why any of the Big 4 never invade their bloody pitches?? Theres no bigger honour really than winning the Prem or reaching Champions League final but you never get people on the pitch??

because if we do it we're hooligans and receive bans
BWA_Ultra - May 1, 2008 09:09 AM (GMT)
Looks like we are very similar to one of the "big 4" then in that respect (but it's ok for Barnsley etc.)

LongtonLeeds - May 1, 2008 11:37 AM (GMT)
Leeds fans best not invade the pitch again saturday we seem to do it every year and do something stupid !!! These are the first team i actually want to do a lap of honour too and they will ruin it i bet

Video of it, please leave the pitch announcements, and a lot of the crowd didnt like the invasion....please do not spoil it...spoil what?.. Who cares about a lap of honour?, last game at a stadium invade the pitch. ..but it seems the majority would prefer to see the players run round the pitch? No idea why? Fans invading the pitch made out to be some kind of hooligans...I guess the tide had already turned, I remember when people invading the pitch at the end of season was a positive thing.

Reppz - May 3, 2008 04:48 PM (GMT)
Cheers mate. Yeah about 40 or so people ran on straight after the final whistle, but the majority wanted a lap of honour and after that had been done they went on. Least the stewards realised we wanted to be on and didn't seem bothered about it in the end though..

Wigan if we win the league (or loose for that matter) will be highly interesting imo
