looks like i've got european cup final tickets! :o
anybody know a cheap way to get to moscow?!? (don't bother with the crap "by beating barca" jokes... <_< )
JTsBlueArmy - April 21, 2008 12:03 PM (GMT)
THERE IS NO CHEAP WAY TO MOSCOW
FACT!
If we win looks like i've got to make a decision between 1) Renewing my season ticket or 2) Go to moscow

By not using official charters!
You can fly to Moscow for £400 direct from London. Don't just book the first flight you see with British Airways, check all airlines and options, it might be cheaper flying to another country first then flying to Moscow.
It will probably cost the same amount as a two week holiday in Ibiza but I know were i'd rather go...

Use Germanwings - fly via Cologne or Stuttgart to Moscow.
Cheap and easy.....

Aeroflot-Russian Airlines seems quite cheap
19th May - 11:50 Depart London (LHR)
Arrive Moscow (SVO) 18:45
22nd May - 20:45 Depart Moscow (SVO)
Arrive London (LHR) 21:45
That's £464.40.
Or try expedia.co.uk to compare different airlines - there are plenty of options.

Jump into the sea and swim across, then walk to the stadium.
It's free and if you leave now you may get there in time!

Erm...gives you advantage for finals which you don't go to?
JTsBlueArmy - April 21, 2008 04:01 PM (GMT)
Change in Germany sounds a good option and under £500 at the moment, am I right in thinking though if you ain't on an official club trip you need a hotel confirmation for a visa???
LongtonLeeds - April 21, 2008 04:03 PM (GMT)
I dont go the finals obviously unless you include play off finals ;)
rwab - April 21, 2008 04:22 PM (GMT)
The only way you can normally get a visa is by sending off the form and a confirmed hotel reservation. Guess the only way to get round this it to pay over the odds for an official trip. Sportops are good and they will sort out your visa for you.

Too much time at work....
Anyway, you can go from Dublin to Riga for £72 return (Ryanair ( out Monday back Friday)) then overnight sleeper trains from Riga to Moscow for £48 e/w, 2nd class where you get a compartment, they're decent enough...
So all in £168 Monday to Friday and all you have is hotel (Tuesday, Wednesday night) and a boat(?) to Dublin. Easy. :P

Wouldn't actually mind doing that but there's no way I could get a week off work.
Should usually find a flight to Dublin that's cheaper than the ferry..

me and my mates made a decision to wait on last night's result before booking anything...fat lot of good that did us <_<
