Yeh police confirmed today that the driver was a Villa fan aswell, how can it be suspected murder then? Why would a Villa fan mow down another Villa fan on purpose?! My only theory is that the man who died and the rest of the group weren't wearing colours and the driver may have thought they were Blues fans

Or he could of been a useless driver or the bloke hit could of been blind drunk
Nothing to show at the minute this had anything to do with football other than it happened in a crowded area close to the ground

Yes maybe. But even if the bloke driving was a Blues fan the police woudn't say that he was anyway imo, they know for a fact if our fans found out he was Blues there would be even more tension between the 2 sets of fans and our fans wouldn't be happy in the slightest :ph43r:

People wander out of football grounds as if roads don't belong to cars. Most cars, especially those driven by other fans, kind of respect the unwritten rule of letting pedestrians take over the roads.
I'm guessing that what's happened here is that a driver has got frustrated by going nowhere and theres been and exchange of words/gestures and a red mist has risen to some extent or other. I don't know though, and the one thing that has become more than clear over the last 24 hours is that no-one really does.
The driver and the victim are both Villa fans though, and in that sense this is not a football rivalry related incident. It's an accident, or a road rage type thing, or something, but what it isn't is more Villa/Blues aggro. Yesterday went off peacefully with only 11 arrests, so I'll be pleased not to see this crank it back up again.
RIP Christopher Priest - You left us on a good day.
