Title: Minimum Away Allocations
T-Man Lcfc - April 20, 2008 12:32 PM (GMT)
Anyone know if there is one, i.e. 10% of ground capacity. We've been allocated 1,600 tickets for stoke on the last day with us potentially not being safe and of cours ethem going for promotion. It has also been said that they are reluctant to give us any more tickets. Everytime I've seen stoke on tele their ground has been a wash with emtpy red seats and a huge stand behind the goal holding 5,000 for away fans normally but no club ever takes that.
So now it's their "big promotion party" and they'll be denying thousands of Leicester fans the chance to go and hopefully cheer their team on for survival just so their "fans" who probably support one of the big 4 more can daytrip.
Is there any rights for us for allocations or is it just tough luck?
Peter SUSD - April 20, 2008 03:34 PM (GMT)
In the Premier League it is supposed to be 10% of capacity of 3000, whichever is the greater. Not sure if its the same for Football League. However can be reduced for safety or public order reasons.
BWA_Ultra - April 20, 2008 05:55 PM (GMT)
I have heard that in the football league it is;
*at least 1,000 no matter what size the ground is
*10% of capacity or 2,000 whichever is smaller is the normal though.
i.e
Grounds under 10,000 - minimum allocation is 1,000
grounds between 10,000 & 20,000 - minimum allocations is 10% of capacity
grounds over 20,000 - minimum allocation is 2,000
T-Man Lcfc - April 20, 2008 07:53 PM (GMT)
Thanks for that. We should at least get a few more then.
They've been doing well all season and averaging 16,000! And they think 28,000 will turn up to se them go up.
Still wouldn't be happy unless we get over 3k let alone the allocation for most clubs this season. If we beat sheff wed on saturday we'll be safe and it won't matter but if we don't it will be a huge game for both clubs.
There's still the dnager that the big 9 will become the big 8 (clubs never been outside the top 2 divisions), so until we're safe I cannot relax
T-Man Lcfc - April 24, 2008 09:47 AM (GMT)
trouting joke this is! Our 1600 went within 2 days of priority 1 and 2 ST holders. I had this prioity but had to wait till priority 3 for a couple of mates. After being told stoke would give us an extra alloation exen though it was only a reported 500! Now it seems we wont even get that!!
Every other team has been allocated 4,800 for stoke this season, but when we come it's suddenly 1,600! And they've even reportedly set aside 1,000 for segregation! How come at the walkers and every prem ground they can do it with a line of police and stewards?
Obviously if we beat sheff wed we'll be safe and the game will be irrelevant BUT say we don't, stoke don't seem to realise the game is vital to us aswell
Hope stoke crash and burn in the play-offs now and if they do go up get less points than Derby, plastic pricks!
albiontilidie - April 24, 2008 10:38 AM (GMT)
that a joke and really do hope you get a result their and let that scum stay down
shrenchel - April 24, 2008 11:23 AM (GMT)
Yeah it's a trouting joke, couldn't get hold of one. I booked the train ages ago as well to get it cheap. Money down the pisser.
STOKE - April 24, 2008 12:00 PM (GMT)
you should get another 400 tickets! the away end holds 4800 the reason you havnt got this is because they are putting stoke fans in the away end!
they dont usually put stoke fans in there but the demand for tickets has been massive! the game is sold out
hope sheffield beat you then we can send you down on the last game!!
i hope west brom go up with us cos we're guaranteed 6 points next season!! :D
"OH CITY WE LOVE YOU. . ."
BWA_Ultra - April 24, 2008 12:43 PM (GMT)
I don't blame Stoke for trying to get as many home fans in as possible however Leicester should be allocated at least 2,000 surely?!

Yeah we're awaiting word on the next batch. Dont think the police want us to have many more. It will be another 400 making allocation 2'000 thats the minimum they can give us. Makes sense from Stokes point of view, as you can tell from the calm manner, I've been able to get tickets.
I would be pissed if i hadn't!
Blackcountry Villa - April 24, 2008 02:10 PM (GMT)
Splitting the away end between both sets of fans, should be interesting especially if the Leicester fans are feeling a bit p!ssed off aswell if they go down :ph43r:
smithie - April 24, 2008 03:15 PM (GMT)
It's taken 22 home games before Stoke sell out. I think that tells you everything about what the crowd will be made up of that day.
If you think Derby have struggled, wait till Stoke go up.
Ched - April 24, 2008 03:30 PM (GMT)
I think it'll come down to the Police and SAG if it's the segregated seats that are left.
Poorly managed by our club as well to be honest, not just Stoke.

Yep. There's a stoke fan on a Leicester forum claiming that people are now buying tickets off touts for about 100 quid. Ridiculous.
BWA_Ultra - April 25, 2008 11:35 AM (GMT)
They have 4,000 at their beamback of the game from Layer Road tommorow as we can only offer 1,052 tickets.
I am half tempted to drive to Stoke and watch the game there!
T-Man Lcfc - April 25, 2008 04:17 PM (GMT)

Had enough with all this, our ticket office are just as bad, they wont tell us anything. We may get another 400 and if we do the rush for them will be immense.
And stoke fan - sorry do you have something against us? Until now I never minded you but I sure as hell do now!
And other stoke fans have been saying we'd do it if we were in stokes position: We wouldn't!
2002/03 Brighton at the walkers, win and we get promoted back to the prem, we gave them the full 3,200 allocation. They sold about 1,500 then sent them back to us on the wednesday so we could sell the remainder.
Also sheff weds tomorrow HUGE GAME!! They sold their 3,200 about 2 weeks ago fair enough they asked for more we said no. The game has now sold out 32,000 for both clubs! we didn't cut into their allocation did we?
T-Man Lcfc - April 29, 2008 03:34 PM (GMT)
Managed to get a ticket for this by the skin of my teeth, only due to someone emailing in last week and their request was dealt with on Monday after the news of 400 odd more tickets.
The tickets were never made for sale, so obviosult I have a few unhappy mates.
still not best pleased about all this but at least I'll be there. We need to better equal sotons score to stay up. Absolutely tenchting it!!!!
AFC#1 - April 29, 2008 03:55 PM (GMT)
Why did you wait for your mates to get tickets? Surely just stand where you want?
Reppz - April 29, 2008 03:58 PM (GMT)
lol wouldn't fance sharing a stand with the scum of stoke on the last day. prepare to get pelted with coins and charged at 3 or 4 times a match.
Good Luck!

Yeah, I didn't really think about that, always assumed the allocation would be increased and by much more than 400.
When it said intial allocation it does make you think you may have more time than you actaully do.

Can't see it being that bad mate. They probably do have a nasty section, although don't most clubs these days? But I'd imagine the fans there on saturday will be plastic coonts who will probably only suppot them for a day then go back to Man United, Chelsea, pool etc.
The fact they've averaged 13,000 all season now 28,000 are going to show up, says alot about their support.

I doubt that geez. Last couple of times I've been Stoke, initimidating is the last thing it's been. Plus as T-Man said, I guess the Stoke fans in the away stand will be the ones that haven't been to a game all season and have suddenly got a lob on at the thought of seeing Ronaldo down the Brittania next season.
Delilah - May 2, 2008 04:13 PM (GMT)

Peter SUSD - May 2, 2008 06:19 PM (GMT)
No problem with Stoke club or fans, but hope we don't have to go there next year due to police.
First time West Ham played at Stoke in Championship we were all put on buses at the station, but told we could go to pub near the ground. However they took us into the compound around the away entrance, turned us out the buses & shut the gates. This was at 1.00 & we were told we'd have to wait there until the ground opended. I was meeting my brother and managed to sneek out a gate when a bus drove out, but several of us were threatened with arrest just for questioning what was happening to police officers. We had taken 5000 and only those from the train were made to stay in the compound. All those who drove were free to roam around outside & there was no trouble.
After the game they didn't have enough buses to get everyone back to the station. Buses were very overcrowded, with people standing on upper deck, all in contravention to safety regulations. It all took ages and many of us missed the train for whcih we had reserved seats. At the station we were unloaded one bus at a time (took ages) and made to go onto the platform. Buffet was closed and only food or drink was a fruit machine.
I wrote to Stoke police afterwards and they defended it all by saying they had information that West Ham hooligans were travelling by train. This was correct in that some of those on the train were the old ICF, but police were very out of touch, not knowing that these blokes are mostly in their 50s and no longer looking for trouble.
STOKE - May 2, 2008 07:01 PM (GMT)

Delilah - May 2, 2008 07:03 PM (GMT)
PETER, the policin down stoke when we played birmingham last year was that terrible that i ended up on bbc new's and rang the local paper, inocent women, children and men were all been treated like mindless hooligan's, kid's were screaming and men being battoned 4 askin question's etc and when we women interviend we were also hit. So can totally agree with ya. Their's hooligan's @ every football club but at STOKE WE R ALL CLASSED HOOLIGAN's women and kid's included................................
Reppz - May 2, 2008 07:14 PM (GMT)
Too me it seemed the whole of Stoke Citys support seem up for a ruck
STOKE - May 2, 2008 07:34 PM (GMT)

Standupandsing - May 5, 2008 03:10 PM (GMT)
Policing was a bit poor. Hundreds around and in the stadium but none between the two sets of fans at half time. Stoke broke the door (Yes a door to seperate the fans) down and rushed the Leicester fans in our half of the concourse. :(
No other problems with them though.
