Title: Next Season Ticket Prices
Description: Comment here please...

Amanda - April 9, 2008 10:38 AM (GMT)
Whether you're prices have been increased or frozen or - albeit unlikely! - reduced.

ML - ITFC - April 9, 2008 11:01 AM (GMT)
If we renew before the 'early-bird date' which is the end of this week then our prices are frozen. If we get promoted to the Prem this season (unlikely now) then supporters who have held a season ticket for the past two seasons can get a 50% rebate.

tbh444 - April 9, 2008 11:24 AM (GMT)
At Coventry ST prices are mostly frozen I think (albeit with relegation still being possible), cheapest still £277 which is decent enough value.

However, matchday prices have in some cases increased (except for on-the-day purchases). Last season was £21-£23 rising to £24 on the day, next season is £23-£25 not sure if any change on the day. I do have a 'flexicard' which knocks £2 off those prices, however add on the £1 online booking fee and it's hardly worth it.

For me they are still way too high and not living locally can't justify a season ticket I will be an infrequent visitor (again).

BWA_Ultra - April 9, 2008 11:44 AM (GMT)
Relegated & 40+% rise all because we have a shiny new stadium :(

Colchester United 3rd division

(Prices subject to change)

Match day prices £26 (whole ground)
Season ticket prices £508 (Existing ST holders before 01/06/08) 19.53 games/23
Season ticket prices £553 (New ST holders before 01/06/08) 21.26 games/23
Season ticket prices £598 (ST holders after 01/06/08) 23games/23

unibee - April 9, 2008 11:47 AM (GMT)

N/NW Terrace (uncovered) £13
East Terrace (covered) £15
Covered seats (except Main Stand) £16

Frozen for the fourth (I think) year in a row, mine is £650 in the MHL which is the lowest outside the family section. Normal match tickets stay at £45 to £60

Any ideas on whether we will finally see a decline in take up of Prem (and other) season tickets? Anyone saying enough is enough...??

Easier said than done. We will still get alot renewing/buying season tickets simply because you cant just stop going. Im one that would pay no matter what to see leeds play...it means that much. Saturdays without football wouldnt be worth it and thats what i think most people would say.

Numbers may decrease slightly but with some clubs they have even more waiting in the wings to buy the next one

Well Blackburn are selling their cheapest season tickets at £250 for the second season running. Yes incredibly that's less than half of what Colchester are asking! But does go to show how much it's about supply and demand, and how little we can probably do about it as punters in the end.

Not really in season tickets for us, but I've noticed games taking a lot longer to sell out and go to general sale more often this season

smithie - April 9, 2008 02:32 PM (GMT)
Top news all round at Vale.

Season tickets

Adults £183.00, under 13's3 £45

all based on the assumption we can sell 5000 ST's. If we can't do it at those prices, we may as well give up.

Strangely, now I've got used to the idea of relegation I'm looking forward to next year - stacks of terracing in Lg 2 and it's like the old Div 3 North so plenty of local derbies !!

BHB - April 9, 2008 02:33 PM (GMT)
Our prices aren't announced - we just get a renew form through the post in early June with the new renewal price - and as in the last 10 years or so, it'll have gone up another £40, or £2 per game.

So for The Kop next season it'll be £640, and everywhere else will be £680 no matter where you sit.

marvin - April 9, 2008 03:18 PM (GMT)
ours are never announced 'til much later (closed season) BUT they will go up. No question. I'll show my arse in burton's window if they don't.

James - April 9, 2008 04:01 PM (GMT)
Can people please post a link to the page on their clubs website??

It's interesting that a lot of clubs are now starting to reduce season tickets after years and years of rises.

I know most clubs aren't reducing prices, and Leeds, Colchester for example seem hell bent on massive rises, but it seems like maybe 10 or so are, whereas it was extremely rare a few years ago.

I'm glad to see that programme prices seem to have stopped rising too. £3 may be expensive, but most clubs seem to have charged that for several seasons now.

watermelon man - April 9, 2008 09:18 PM (GMT)
Wow, Blackburn cheaper to watch than Barnet.

No wonder we only have 2,000 fans max!

DanC - April 10, 2008 06:50 AM (GMT)
Good news for us at Bristol City, Prices for current season ticket holders frozen until this Friday. ST's have been on sale for a couple of weeks now and up to a couple of days ago 6000 out of 10500 have renewed. I left it late and renewed yesterday but only because I hadn't been bothered to get around to doing it and I'm sure many more are the same.

PRICES

Atyeo Stand: Adult - £375, Over-65 - £250, Under-21/student - £185,
Under-21/student - £245, Under-16 - £120.

Dolman Stand, Blocks A-B, F-N: Adult - £425, Over-65 - £285, Under-21/student - £225, Under-16 - £105, Under-7 - FREE, Family Ticket - £850.

Williams Stand, Block L: Adult - £375, Over-65 - £250, Under-21/student - £185, Under-16 - £105.

Williams Stand, all other blocks: Adult - £425, Over-65 - £285, Under-21/student - £225, Under-16 - £105.

Wedlock Stand: Adult - £250, Over-65/under-21/student - £185, Under-16 - £100.

Disabitlity/Wheelchair - £185, carer free subject to terms and conditions.

After a long hard battle to get our East End back we were given it back this season and 250 season tickets were sold. However u16 tickets were not made available in there. Over the course of the season the EE has grown in popularity due to the superb atmosphere and non stop support in there and also the ability to stand. As the season has gone on a bring a friend scheme was introduced to allow more people to get in there. However the club could have managed it better by allowing ST swaps.

For the last couple of games the EE has been used as an overflow area and this has took the spark away as the 250 ST holders who all want to sing, shout and stand are now spread out by the overflow fans' who don't necessary want to be in the EE but are as all the other stands are sold out. Most of them have no interest in generating a atmosphere unfortunately.

So the club has valued the EE support by placing 1000 ST's on sale at reduced prices and will also be allowing U16's in there next season. Last season a adult ST cost 375, Next season it will be 250 and that could yet be for Premiership football.

The club most be congratulated for freezing prices and reducing them in the EE. However should we go up the frozen ST's wont actually be frozen as at the moment for 375 you get to see 23 games but in the Premiership you would only get to see 19 home games for your 375. At the moment the 375 pounds ST's figure out at around 16 quid a game however in the prem it would figure out at around 19 pounds a game so in the prem a ST will figure out around 60 quid more so that's about a 16% increase really but if we get to the prem then I don't think anyone would actually care.

After the deadline on Friday the prices increase but they haven't released them details yet then on may 11th which is the date ST holders have to renew I expect prices will increase again.

ATFC Martin - April 10, 2008 10:15 AM (GMT)

Blimey you get can a seated ticket cheaper here then your gaff.

hibs1875 - April 10, 2008 01:33 PM (GMT)
Just recieved our prices through the door for next season. Considering the whole standard of football up here I think they are fkn shocking. I know most Prem league teams will be more expensive but at least you'll be getting visits from the top four aswell as your Spurs', West Hams, Villa's, Newcastles, Man Citys and Evertons etc all of whom have great (travelling) supports and some decent, entertaining football and players. The travelling support at our stadium is usually around 300 (except Rangers, Celtic and Hearts) and your paying money to watch players like Ross Tokley, Alan Reid and Jack Ross! Anyway...

Adult season tickets are up 6.6% with concession tickets and students up 9.9%. Way over the rate of inflation.
The cheapest adult season ticket is £355 with the dearest season ticket for 'normal' seats is £405. There are around 5000 available of each price. Kids season tickets are £100 with students/oaps and 15-18 year olds priced at £170. All season tickets don't get you into any friendlies or cup matches. Its also been worked out that by buying a season ticket (Deadline 2 June which is tenche) will save you a whopping £1.05 per game compared to a walk-up fan. So if you miss 1 home match you would've saved a grand total of around £2 compared to a walp-up punter that has paids in weekly to every match. Thats gradiute for you..

NihilBaxter - April 10, 2008 01:37 PM (GMT)
Some numbers from Germany (Eintracht Frankfurt) to draw a comparison.

The reduced season tickets will increase by 8%, "normal" season tickets by 1%.

Standing:

Normal: €157 (£125)
Reduced: €109 (£87) for pupils, students, pensioners, members of supporter clubs, etc.
Kids(<14y) €68 (£54)

Cheapest sitting:

Normal: €307 (£245)
Reduced: €245 (£195)

Tickets include the 17 home games, free public transport in the whole state of Hesse, guaranteed ticket for possible cup games at home.

Hodgson - April 10, 2008 01:40 PM (GMT)
Last season ours got announced a few days after the milan home game (or was it after the roma game I can't remember) but after one of those two, to soften the blow.

They actually think whether you will renew your ST solely depends on how good the team is.

i.e aparantely last season it went up 5 times what it originally was planned for because we won the league and got to the semi finals of the CL.

Prices in Germany seem spot on.

You did forget to mention City put up prices last season by 30 - 40%, scrapped early bird loyalty discount for the first time in a decade and got rid off under sixteen prices in the Dolman for certain blocks and the East End.

Those prices reflect how poor Citys gates have been this season for club top three for most of it.

kroblues - April 10, 2008 03:51 PM (GMT)
For Birmingham my season ticket is frozen or reduced by 10% if I renew by Friday (not gonna happen)

So it's either £214.00 or £237.50 for a concession ticket in the Tilton Rd End

OK, it's all still too high compared to the continent, but can't complain, City have always had pretty reasonable prices.

The whole of Hessen! Hessen in one of the thirteen states of Germany, right, stretching from Frankfurt upto places like Kassel? So on a ticket that works out at Euro 9 a game, you can also travel 150km to the game. How does this work, unless you're in a group on an SWE ticket, you must spend more than that on the journey alone, let alone the match ticket?

I agree City are quite good on season card prices generally, they have frozen the prices for the last 4 years so increasing them by £2 per game (if you renew at the cheapest time) is good value.
My brother renewed at the most expensive time for this season and is renewing at the cheapest time for next season and is paying about £1 less for the season.

Keep the faith!

Yeah, it's a real benefit for the fans, especially those living in the rural northern part of Hessen. This map illustrates this generous offer. It's valid 5 hours before the game and for the rest of the day in all regional trains, busses, undergrounds, trams. The transport company RMV is one of our main sponsors though. The round-trip from Kassel to Frankfurt would be around €25-30, if you didn't use the SWE ticket of course.

By the way, Germany consists of 16 states. Berlin, Hamburg and Bremen also count as federal states.

@hibs1875

My ST will sting me £150, but that's because I'm (technically) a student cant.
Full adults are like £270.
A lot of people just pick and choose games up here, no one can be fkd going a nd freezing their bollocks off to watch St Mirren, Falkirk and Kilmarnock...

That's astonishing, no other word for it. I can only imagine the club's make there money from doling out beer and selling a dozen scarves for each person to wrap around their wrists.

Do many clubs include the whole state in the free transport offer, or does it vary from club to club?

Our prices have just been announced for next season, theres been a slight increase in price for the first time in 3 seasons which is acceptable. Our dearest season ticket is 510 which still works out at just 27 quid a game, and the cheapest adult season ticket is only 265 quid which works out at just 13 pound a game. My season ticket in the Holte Upper will be 310.

(My pound sign key has broke by the way  Well my computer got wiped, and now when i press the pound sign a # comes up instead and i can't find the pound sign anywhere on the keyboard)

(My pound sign key has broke by the way  Well my computer got wiped, and now when i press the pound sign a # comes up instead and i can't find the pound sign anywhere on the keyboard)

So it would cost me more to watch Aldershot in Div 4 than to watch top flight football. What a f*cking joke. Tried mentioning this on the ATFC message board and was shouted down from all angles....Sod that.

@unibee:
The transport networks are all run by the municipal transport companies which are subsidized by tax-money to keep public transport affordable. All clubs in the top divisions give a special amount per ticket to the local transport network (about one or two Euros) to offer the free transport. And I think the clubs are forced to co-operate by the local authorities as they also use the local infrastructure.
But besides Eintracht I have never heard of clubs that offer free transport in the whole state. Usually it is just inside the respective transport network like the VRR at the Ruhr.

Still well more than we're being charged....

Price freeze for Leicester if bought before 31st May....Adult prices start in the "kop" & Family Stand (The whole of it, not just select tickets) from £322.

There are around 2000tickets for £275 quid as well which is not bad value, just crap seats.
