Anybody watching it?

Love it that the police "respect our right to protest". How patronising is that? We've had a right to protest for hundreds of years; why not say "the people of Britain are able to protest legitimately but we will be there to ensure those carrying the torch do so in safety" or something like that?

Also loving it that the people of East London - who are supposed to be so delighted that they will host the Olympics in four years time - are showing a remarkable lack of interest.

The police have been busier today than they are when Man Utd come to town.. :rolleyes: and displaying the same tactics. Am sure that we'll get lots of stories of OTT policing in the papers tomorrow.

And finally, if they had to have this relay in London, why the hell have people like Trevor McDonald, Denise Van Outen and Blue Peter presenters carrying it? Why not have people connected with sport do it - those training our future gold metal winners perhaps?

I just looked out of the window here in Cornwall and couldn't see the flame. :blink:

Superb stuff just watched the highlights on the tele. The police can get to f*ck there suppose to protect us not protect a flame carried by various plebs and a human rights abusing dictatorship using VERY heavy handed tatics.

And as for our little Olympic project - I can't wait for the next four years of over expenditure and useless management should be rather amusing.

Why aren't people in East London interested in the olympics? the media seem to be bigging it up as East London is finally on the map.

The french protested properly....400 Policeman and they still managed to put the flame out...TWICE! :lol:

Got to love the French, despite all the tench they take they do know how to get one over officialdom.
