I'm going to London on Thursday, having a look around, then am going over to Southend on Friday to watch the football. I'm staying in Paddington and will be going out Thursday night. Wheres the best local place for clubs? is the west end near by? whats best for four 20 year old boys? wheres reasonable? Please post if you know the area.

Turnmills on Clerkenwell Road is my favourite club on my occasional jaunts up to London.

Also, look up Fabric, Ministry of Sound, Aquarium on Google, Wikipedia etc.

That's assuming you like the techno, house stuff etc. If you're more into your rock, indie etc. then the Electric Ballroom in Camden is pretty good, but I don't know quite as much about that. Again there's probably any number of websites that could give some good advice.

Best place for a few early beers with loads of pubs and bars is Piccadilly Circus and Leicester Square. Sometimes the bars dont let groups of men in - as many places in London get full of blokes and bouncers only let Women in when it gets like that. Think its to stop fights as well. I have heard Camden is good for later on in the night.

On that note, if you're intending to have an "all-nighter" and go to a couple of places you might like to look up a place called The Egg - opens at midnight, shuts at 4 in the afternoon the next day and plays stuff that's kind of on the boundary between "music" and weird noises". Good fun though, if one is suffering from temporary chemical inbalances like!

If you just wanna go on the lash then there's plenty of decent pubs/bars in camden, shoreditch or the west end if you've deep pockets, and then just crack on to one of the standard cheese clubs - tiger tiger, oceana, liquid etc. London's got a couple of each I think, have a look on their websites.

I'd reccomend going to a proper club like SEone, Turnmills, The End, Scala, Fabric, Cargo, 93 East Street, Herbal etc. Depends whether you're into the music/generally getting on it, though I guess.

Got back from London last night, went out Thursday night. I went to Piccadilly and around that area, how many fkn gay clubs are there, we must have been in the minority us weird straighties. One of my friends was getting chatted up by a gay bloke and this is when we found a straight bar. We didn't even go to a club, we left by about 2am. It was also full of people trying to get you in their clubs, pushing you in the que and charging you, and giving you bull like its ladies night tonight, you'll love it. It was a terrible night.

I much prefer Swansea's night life even if there isn't as many people, but theres still a street full of bars and a couple of good nightclubs. Oh and Liverpool what a night life, but I think I'll give London's scene a miss for a while.

the other week in escape in swansea my mate got butted coz he was scouse :D awsome club though i thought, you walk into one of the toilets and theres about 30 people askin you if your sellin any pills everyone was right off it...me included :lol: the bouncers are sound as trout there as well just let anyone in, i saw a crackin fight as well two rioded up geezers with there tops off proper goin for it, and the birds there, well put it this way they're up for anything ;)

Dont get me wrong Liverpool has an unbelieveable amount of skinheads who I wouldn't even fancy looking in the eye, but at least its straight, and the accent is brilliant on girls :rolleyes:

What do you think of Swansea's nightlife Jon? a few weeks now till Oceana opens, its gonna be Wales's biggest night club, well until Cardiff hear about it and open one which holds one extra person.
