Title: Stupid Things I Have Heard
Description: against standing
L.T.F.C - March 13, 2008 05:49 PM (GMT)
Was talking to this lad I know. (Says hes Liverpool but has been to more Luton games in the last few years than he has Liverpool.) We then got onto the topic of standing at football. He first went on about Hillsbourgh and that was due to standing etc etc. Also saying what would you prefer being on a terrace or comfortable in a seat. MMM let me see  .But he also added this beauty
wait for it

| With seats the grounds look much nicer and you can even write out the club names in them also why would someone want to stand at a football match is beyond me. |
This is 100% true also, this will annoy BHB and the likes some how he managed to get a ticket in your end for our home game of the cup games a few months back.

I know some people
Ours, the entrance to the Oak Road end. The traditionally vocal home end terrace in the past but currently the away end. Unfortunately in my time it has always been the away end so have never been in there. :(

The best away end ever...i love luton (the ground that is obviously)

Yeah I get the "nice comfy seat" argument as well. From a Watford fan (that should please you...)!
Some people just don't understand!

I've heard that argument as well. 'The stadium wouldn't look as good with terracing', it was with someone I only know a little, but I thought what are you on about. This is not a way of justifying an argument against standing.
It also bugs me when people say I dont see why you'd want to stand when you can sit. But to perfectly honest I dont understand how men can be gay. I really can not understand the attraction or anything, but instead you just accept their choices, respect them for it, and let them get on with it. The world is about choices, even if sometimes you cant understand the other persons views.
Its not about everyone wanting to stand, its the fact that clearly people want that choice, so just provide it.

We have to remember we aren't campaigning for terracing but safe standing where the stadium remains an all seated one!
Admittedly from a visual point of view (IMO) seating does look more attractive but the vast majority of each stadium would retain this look with a small section of each ground having a barrier infront of each row....

TBH i even like the look of a mix of terracing and seats.
Old trafford in the 80's for instance

Well I my humble opinion I think that is more dangerous standing with seats than standing in an actual standing area like you said not the old school terraces but something like many say what they have in Germany. Just my opinion of course it be great if they do allow certain blocks to stand in every ground in the country with seats as it would be a step in the right direction. We already have a "unofficial" standing area at Luton and not one steward bothers to sit us down. (not yet anyway) Also everyone knows that if you want the comfy quiet "experience" you go into the Kenilworth end while if you want the noise the corner.
Also I add if people want to be comfortable at the football they can its just the way some people say "I want to sit" they are allowed and when me who wants to stand I can't. (and I don't mean in front of my seat) then they go off with the "dangers" (bullsiht) of it all. Well no one will make you want to stand if you don't want to.
watermelon man that don't surprise me ;) . Nah I daresay we have some just like that as well every club has. Saying that Watford do seem to have more than their fair share of happy clapper face paint and wig wearing sorts than most. :D :D

"if you got a seat use it" not realy stupid but winds me up why people want to sit and sing

My old man has that attitude. Would stand if there was places but doesn't like standing when theres seats(Ive paid for a seat so I want to use it). Saying that he rarely goes anymore.
