Title: The Courteeners

Blackcountry Villa - March 7, 2008 05:18 PM (GMT)
Anyone heard these? Top band and the best thing music-wise to come out of Manchester for a long while.

Cavorting is an amazing song

Can't get into them at all, no my cuppa tea like, each to there own though.

I'm currently loving The Rascals' stuff. Check em out if they're touring, will be a quality gig and will only cost a few quid.
Can't wait for Alex Turners and Miles Kanes new album.

Anyone doing any fests this year?

I'm doing the V Festival. Looking forward to seeing The Pigeon Detectives and The Courteeners.

You doing any fella?

Typical brummies, a year late in picking up on anything half decent ;)

Keep an eye out for a lad called Mat Tolitt from Manchester, writes some quality stuff. I tend to prefer Twisted Wheel who will probably be massive in a year or two.

T In The Park and Rockness are the big ones. Also doing two others called the Wickerman and Belladrum Tartan Heart.

Ian Brown, The Prodigy and The Enemy at T in the park and Fatboy Slim and Underworld at Rockness, add that with booze and chemicals and your gonna have the time of your life ;)

Seen The Pigeon Detectives twice last year, excellent band live, the frontman's great, had the place bouncing.

Pigeon Detectives are typical of the new garbage 'indie' bands about at the moment. Sounds like a bunch of lyrics written by a 15 year old who's balls have just dropped.

I'm only going to bother with V this year. Mainly because I didn't get the chance to catch The Verve on the last tour.

I'm wanting to do to Rockness too, was good last year but I've already used all my holidays for work this year so I'll half to see what the boss is saying....or pull a sickie
