Title: Brum Away
Description: rubbish day all round

Jonny PUFC/THFC - March 2, 2008 06:32 PM (GMT)
Stewards kick 25 Yids out for standing. I had a chat with some outside and told them how I thought they managed the crowd very poorly indeed. when in the ground the the steward shouted at me to "SIT DOWN" and when I said "what??" as it was the first time of asking he started asking me to come with him so he could kick me out, needless to say I didn't budge. That was the FIRST time of asking, totally out of order.

They spent the whole game going up and down the first 10 rows and left the rest of the stand to it...

also me and 4 mates were jumped by 10 of the lovely zulu's. Gave three of us a good kicking and I gave best impression of Tony Underwood and dodged 3 of them. Wow, well done Zulu you must be really proud, I thought hools cared about their rep?? we are basically scarfies!

oh i thats rich coming from a yid! whl is one of the worst grounds in the league for getting told to sit down and getting bother off the fans when coming out of the ground

Getting told to sit down got nothing to do with the fans

However yes they are a bunch of little salmons outside the ground though

As for birmingham, I don't think we got any bother at all when we went and we had all 3000 standing

gooner1 - March 2, 2008 06:48 PM (GMT)
Had exactly the same with us last week, they seem to have got a lot stricter wth standing all of a sudden. Unlucky for you outside the ground but as has been said outside your ground is a nightmare. Got people on the mobiles telling so called 'hools' further down the road to attack scarfers etc. Not on at all.

kroblues - March 2, 2008 06:55 PM (GMT)
Much worse in the home end, trust me. They keep telling us to sit down when we're singing Keep right on before the game (don't know if you could hear that over that rubbish music they keep playing)

I don't think it is mate, IMO WHL manage standing very well indeed. I can't comment on what its like for away lads outside WHL but I can say I have never witnessed indiscriminate beetings like the one we took, only two groups of lads who seem up for a tear up...

Maybe if they didn't have those stupid bucket seats people would be more willing to sit down, and I'm under 10 stone god knows how fat fans fit.

AndrewFFC - March 2, 2008 07:25 PM (GMT)
Stewards there mostly left us alone, apart from 1 steward with a comically sized headset who told 1 late fan, to find a seat or get kicked out, but i noticed the police giving the home fans inside the ground alot of bother and kicking a load of them out for having a bit of banter.

Outside the ground there was no real bother, there are some really skaggy looking people on the way in, and hooded and casual typed, but despite being of that sort of age we didnt have any bother, perhaps us only being fulham.

I was very suprised with the Stewards in the Railway End yesterday. They usually leave decent away support i.e West Ham, United, Spurs alone but they seemed to keep wading in. Dunno why.

Shame about the trouble pal, they should really move the away fans at St Andrews, in my opnion putting them in the Main stand paddocks would be a better place which would also stop the chance of it kicking off on Cattell RD after the match with the majority of Blues coming down from the Kop and Tilton.

Keep Right On

P.S Wouldn't go along way to put a sneaky bid of O'Hara next season McLeish, he looks a decent players.

Would be grateful to hear directly from Spurs fans who were ejected yesterday and how they were handled by the stewards/security teams. We want to put together a report that we can send to the FLA showing the results of their "crackdown".

I've been on the Glory Glory website and can find nothing there. Are there any other Spurs sites I could look at?

purpleronnie - March 2, 2008 07:44 PM (GMT)
Definately something happening here. Wonder what the FLA would do if no-one stood up.

Thanks.

An email direct to ajm22769@yahoo.co.uk would be appreciated.

Im quite suprised at this. There was no trouble with the stewards when we played at Birmingham in late December, apart from the first 10 minutes when they tried to make the back sit down. When they realised it wasnt going to happen, they just left us.

Reppz - March 2, 2008 10:14 PM (GMT)
I went there last season and stood for the 90, no problem.

Ryan - March 2, 2008 10:49 PM (GMT)
I didn't see a single steward when we (MUFC) played there in September of this season. Stood for 90 minutes, every aisle full with jibbers with no problems whatsoever. As for trouble I heard there was a little, nothing major after the game but I didn't see it.

Hodgson - March 2, 2008 11:21 PM (GMT)
EDIT: sorry ignore this.

Different game I was thinking of.

albiontilidie - March 3, 2008 11:33 AM (GMT)
they did this to us as well when we were there left the upper bit but really targeted the lower section but without much joy though. Brum away is not the nicest away day at all

Blackcountry Villa - March 3, 2008 04:29 PM (GMT)
Never had any problems there and thats when theres more stewards there than any other of their home games, although they probably know we never sit, and especially not at Blues having paid £46 so don't bother trying.

Never heard of any others having trouble there either though before this

from jacob09 on spurscommunity.co.uk

"The first 5 rows to the right of the goal were constantly being told to sit down by stewards, every so often a fair few would sit down, however everyone else started singing stand up if you hate Arsenal, and so they would simply stand up, so the stewards decided to pick a few people out and simply eject them from the ground, this I think made most Spurs fans even more angry, all we wanted to do was celebrate the cup win and have a good time. We weren't harming anyone at all, no one was pushing forward we were just standing to get a better view and get behind our team, furthermore without the big screen, unless you stand you couldn't really see what was going on down the other end of the pitch. It seemed completely ridiculous to eject people, it was just a few stewards on a power trip, it was completely unecessary on their part"
