Title: Music After Goals
L.T.F.C - February 18, 2008 08:24 PM (GMT)
I know this been posted many times before. I just wondered
Who started it in this country
Whats the fascination of chelsea dagger, crap song by a 2nd rate band
Also with tom hark, pig bag, ring of fire etc
And as the clubs always say this. How does it improve the atmosherpe?
If your club does it and the fans dont want it take note from us. We did it for one game this season  (port vale, some ring of fire crap). Well you could tell when they goals went in people wernt impressed. So may people wrote in and complained to the club and it got stoped :D . About the only good thing thats happened this season. Shame we still play chelsea dagger before Kick off though :(

I think we had it for one carling cup game which got so much abuse from the 11,000 crowd it never happened again and we have never spoke of it since. Most songs are to the tune of leeds songs so it just turns us into singing mode
The more who complain about it, depending on the club, the more likely it will get stopped

Yeah it does.
The sad thing is I think these teams who do it, watching when they score the fans actully enjoy it  funny watching the salmons act like seals but sad at the same time.

If you look at the clubs who do it though...bolton, reading, wigan etc its what you would expect from them for some reason. The grounds sum them all up too if we're honest and new ones seem prone to music after goals

Sadly we have bleeding Chelsea Dagger blarring out of our oversized speakers. I'm not overly bothered by it because I celebrate goals in my own way anyway.

Don't think you should mock the fans of clubs who have music after goals geez.
My club (Leicester) introduced it, people wrote/emailed in opposing it as you've suggested but the club are so hell bent on turning into us an Americanised family focused club that they couldn't give two tenchs. It's quite clear the music is hear to stay despite our best efforts so what are we supposed to do, not celebrate every single one of our goals in some kind of continued protest?! Yeah right. City have just scored for trouts sake of course I'm gunna go nuts, don't think this makes me a seal like salmon who has embraced this horrific aspect of modern football. What would you do in my position?!

It's bad enough seeing them big magpie mascots at our home matches never mind music after goals. I think it would send me over the edge if that happened

No theres nothing wrong in going mad.
What I dont like is this seal clapping and the punching one hand in the air at a time and chanting along wiht the music DER DER DER DER DER DER DER. Its riduclas nearly as bad (cant rember who) saying on here about daceing at half time to win a pizza.
In your position I juts celebrate a goal like I do now going crazy and not following along with some poxy music and shouting EEEZY EEZY while trying my best seal impression.

Yeah I don't do that tench. It's completely jarring. We don't seem to do that eeeasy eeeasy wank as much now thankfully.
Wouldn't mind so much if the music had any kind of connection to city, or even if it was only our club that used that track.

Tell me about it, at Reading some of us did complain and for once the club actually listened and tried not playing it, the trouble is most of our plastics looked genuinely confused and didn't know what to do, in the end a lot did the stupid dance anyway.
I think the deafening music straight after games is worse though, when we got promoted it was away so we got to properly celebrate for ages, it wouldn't have been the same with Chelsea Dagger blaring out.
That said I'd really love to hear the sweet sound of Tom Hark on Sunday, it's been a while.

This. Went to a game earlier in the season and when we scored the music came on about 10 seconds later than it usually does. After the initial jump up and cheer, some people around me were almost motionless and were looking at each other with almost panicked expressions, seems they geniunely had forgotten how to celebrate a goal without it. Really sad. salmons.

I'm sorry I have to disagree with you.
Chelsea Dagger is a fantastic song by a superb band.
I agree with you about everything else though!
Lets do a little comparison shall we...
Barnet scoring penalty at home to MK Dons!MK Dons score penalty at home to Barnet!Edit - I just wanted to post these as well... Just because I hate MK.
Us celebrating goal at MK! - The seats do still get in the way. I hate seated away ends!
MK goal at Barnet! - Give them a terrace and even then they still don't know how to celebrate goals. Probably waiting to hear Chelsea Dagger! Listen to that roar! :P
We are playing them this weekend. We've lost our last 4 games. I think we will win!!!
ATFC Martin - February 19, 2008 08:51 AM (GMT)
We had this problem at the start of this season.
Our singing end, the East Bank, does it's 'own' chant when we score goals and the new "kid' (he's about 21 years old) on the tannoy wanted to take that from us and make us celebrate HIS way by playing music after goals. This happened for alot of home games. Each time it happened it went straight on our message board asking him to stop. He wouldn't. He's an absolute arsehole - thinks he owns the place. Then some of the lads got a bit personal with him, not threatening, and we had a live game on the TV - GRRRRRR - and it wasn't played that night and hasn't been since.
And to the guy above, about what should he not do after scoring. "Not celebrate" - well that's exactlly what we did - not EVERYONE but a decent amount to get noticed.
Power to the fans.
albiontilidie - February 19, 2008 12:43 PM (GMT)
we had music a couple of times a few seasons ago, but now it has stopped thank god
and we dont need anything as we have the best celebration after a goal out of everyone
Gillsmad - February 22, 2008 04:07 PM (GMT)
If it's any comfort, Bayern Munich had this god awful German music playing after the goals in the UEFA cup game yesterday!
Blackcountry Villa - February 22, 2008 05:15 PM (GMT)
We played music for one game this season, it was never to be heard again after our fans bombarded message boards saying how much they hated it. Randy's right hand man uses a lot of the boards and he said he had no idea why music was played and promised it would never happen again
Paxton Sprout - February 27, 2008 12:15 PM (GMT)
Wembley played a load of tench at the end of Sunday's game. 'Hi Ho Silver Lining' and 'I Feel Good' IIRC.
FFS you bell ends we have our own songs to sing and don't want to be drowned out by some corporate entertainment crap.
Also, fireworks and flame thrower things. Keep em for bonfire night or new year parties. Absolute bollocks and guess who was paying for it.

tbh444 - February 27, 2008 03:19 PM (GMT)
Remember music as long ago as the early 90s at Highfield Road, although it was just a couple of chords played before and after the scorer, nothing to actually sing along to as such.
It’s true they seem to do it a lot in Germany, they also do a whole routine where the PA bloke and the crowd have a ‘conversation’ – cultural difference there I guess!
