Patrick Colleter (crap French defender we got from Troyes? in the late 90s) on Gus Poyet as he was sprinting down the wing, right in front of the Dell's away section. CRUNCH. Off they both go, Poyet not to return for about six months :blink:

Not as good as the next game though, when he was sent off for committing another horror foul and then ending up in a fight with the whole Forest bench after he got off the pitch :blink:

Which itself was not as good as the game after he game back against Leeds - ball flies into the away end for a Saints throw in and Colleter goes over to take it. Some bloke thinks it would be a good idea to chuck the ball at him as hard as possible, in response to which Colleter (the f*cking legend!) promptly hurls it back in the guy's face. He then proceeds to offer out 1500 Leeds single-handed under a hail of coins until being dragged away by stewards, ref and players. Man was a one-off, that's for sure - if only he was any good, then he'd likely still be a cult hero!

Sorry, most of that ended up not really being about tackles, but that would be my one.

The Cameroon one against Argentina in the opening game of Italia 90. I think it's Caniggia who is running, one guy tries to take him out and fails, the next tries and fails but does make contact and Caniggia is stumbling. The third player just totally wipes him out. trouting marvellous!

Ramsgate - Maidstone earlier this season. Jimmy Strouts (Maidstone) tackles two-footed from behind, and wins the ball cleanly! Superb, and he didn't even get booked. Maybe not the best tackle of all time, but certainly a memorable one for me.
