Title: Why The Bloody Hell....

Amanda - January 26, 2008 11:04 AM (GMT)
Isn't Liverpool v Waterlooville & Havant on tv?

Took it for granted that it was, gutted to find out that it isn't!

Anybody know?

the__mayster - January 26, 2008 11:35 AM (GMT)
Im guessing they have to make a choice early on who they want to put on tv, and the tv men didnt think that havent would get through so they didnt bother about it?

Fair enough, but give me Liverpool v Swansea rather than Chelsea v Wigan or are the BBC planners so short sighted, Premiership obsessed that they think the viewing public wouldn't switch on for a non Premiership match?

They don't like taking risks and there was a slight possilbility of a Luton v Swansea game, but its ended up Liverpool v Havant. Still don't understand why they put wigan chels on, but at least it gives me a longer lie in :D

Liverpool - Swansea would have been a tasty tie.

But could have been Luton - Swansea I guess...

I thought it was Arsenal v Newcastle at 5.15

That is right. It's been in the local paper why our potential game wouldn't be on TV. Tenche weekend of cup footy ain't it, another average draw. Cant wait to see how low Wigan's attendence will be, 7-8,000.

Ye I went, tell them they really missed out. Out of 65 away games that could well be the best. The atmosphere was excellent, about 200 of us stood and it was non stop singing. My mate started about 10 songs and gave me a nudge to get one going, as I'd only started one so far, but with 30 mins left I never got the chance, it really was non stop. Neil Sullivan, their keeper, applauded our fans at the end, it was brilliant. The team were excellent, a steward said to me at the end 'I dont know much about football, but what your team just did was quality'. Great night.

Why weren't your mates allowed on the bus? was it official travel? I went on the bus and other than one event stated in season 2007-8 there were no problems.

Also mate how do you know so much about Swansea, are we your second club or something, just curious?

jonboilfc - January 26, 2008 02:25 PM (GMT)
yeah i used to live their when i was younger but moved around 7 years ago so i do have real soft spot for them and always look at the results when they're playin

They didn't have Havant on for the 3rd Round or the replay, they showed a boring Man C vs Hammers game which was on sky the following weekend anyway! BBC games have been very poor this year, disapointing as I always thought the BBC did well with football.

I guess it just goes to show why the premiership is so popular when they would rather put an all prem tie on than an intresting cross-league tie. :(

I bet they wished they had shown it now :o

At least we may be first on MOTD for a change :P

To be fair I think their 1st and 2nd round games (Torquay v Yeovil and H Railway v Mansfield) were very good choices! However, it was a massive mistake for them to choose Man City, West Ham over Havant Swansea in the 3rd round replay!

Typical Clueless BBC. No idea about what the cups about - the vast majority of Premier Clubs dont care until Round 5 but they dont show the likes of Havants biggest game but some rubbish like Wigan v Chelsea which I couldnt even bring myself to watch. Could they get a football fan in charge of picking there games - WE DONT WANT TO SEE PREMIERSHIP V PREMIERSHIP WE SEE IT EVERY BLOODY WEEK LETS SEE THE ROMANCE YOU MUPPETS !!!

Yeah same here. I thought that they were doing really well up until 3rd round.

I had been raving how good the BBC were with Televising football as well pre-3rd Round  :ph43r:
