Better be on your best behaviour in future those who travel my train, ya naughty so and so's.
(Edit: This was meant to go in the other section. Apologies.)
Hearts Yobs Fined After Train Behavior
FOUR football fans were fined yesterday for terrifying passengers on a train.
The Hearts supporters were returning to Edinburgh from their team's goalless draw with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard their antics caused other passengers to leave the carriage and a steward complained to police.
Ian Taylor, 34, Steven Duffy, 31, Paul Girdwood, 25, and Ian McKenzie, 38, admitted causing a breach of the peace on the train from Inverness to Edinburgh on November 25, 2006.
The four, all of Edinburgh, admitted being part of a rowdy crowd who shouted, swore and chanted throughout the journey.
They were originally charged with singing sectarian songs but this was deleted from the charge and a further allegation that the offence was aggravated by religious prejudice was also deleted.
Girdwood's not guilty plea to a further charge of possessing cocaine was accepted.
Brian Logan, prosecuting, said the train left Inverness at around 6.30pm with the four, who had all been drinking, on board.
They sang football songs throughout the three-and-a-half hour journey and were repeatedly warned about their behaviour by two police officers.
He added: "At one stage, a woman was seen to leave the compartment and go to another.
"The steward was upset and complained to police. A passenger supporting the same team left the carriage."
All four were arrested on arrival at Edinburgh.
Sheriff David Clapham told them: "Given the ages you have now reached, it is disappointing you find yourselves in the dock."
Taylor was fined £300, Girdwood £290 and Duffy and McKenzie £270 each.

Yet if it had been a whole carriage full of supporters i.e Leicester fans on the way back from Derby away they wouldn't do a thing about it.
Shocking, you can be fined for raising you voice now eh?
Got a link btw?

I love the way that it was so terrible that ONE person left the carriage.

It doesn't take much to get people to move. On our way to AFC Wimbledon in October, we sat down in the train and the woman opposite my friend took one look at him (and the beer cans in the bag he was carrying) and moved to another carriage! Talk about stereotyping...

Thats trouting stupid. Ive been on a few trains after aways where everyone is singing etc, but ive also been on trains at random times with groups of 'hoodies' or 'chavs' or whatever, terrorosing people alot more than pissed up football fans who are just stood singing.

I was arrested over 18 months ago for a similar "offense"
Except I wasn't warned, nobody left the carriage, nobody complained. And I wasn't given a £200 fine. I challenged it, ended up costing me over £2,000 to fight it, I think it was 7 court appearances and visits to the solicitors.
All this coming back from a pre-season friendly and a few of us having a sing song on the train. Yet only me arrested. In the cells, then charged with a public order offense and a football banning order applied for.
Joke.
Fought it and it got laughed out of court. "No case to answer" was the verdict. Wonderful use of taxpayers money.
Just about to write a full report on it for the FSF.
