can someone explain it in more detail please, as i don't have anything to do with mk dons i would like to know why people hate them so strongly.

Because they stole a club's league place (& initially it's history)

which not only resulted in the lose of Wimbledon FC but affected some of Milton Keynes non-league teams.

There's stuff about it on wikipedia.

Check it out.

I don't live too far from Milton Keynes, and to be fair to them, they get quite involved with the community and local non league clubs.

Still hate the bastards though.

The reasons for hating MK Dons are so many that it's difficult to summarise them, but the following links should give you some help.

In short, a football club, situated in Merton for 112 years, was stolen from its community because of the greed and selfishness of a few businessmen and an American supermarket chain. A club was able to literally buy its way into the league, an action which totally contravenes the most fundamental principles of sporting competition in this country.
Furthermore, the men responsible acted with complete disdain for the fans whose club they were robbing, and breathtaking dishonesty throughout the affair. For example,
-Fans were told the club had a straight choice - move or die. Most Dons fans still use this as an excuse for the move. Yet this poor, cash-strapped club spent a seven-figure sum on legal fees to get permission for the relocation, had omitted well over £10,000,000 in transfer income from the financial accounts it submitted to the FA commission which sanctioned the move, and had billionaire owners who had previously pledged millions to build a new stadium in London. Besides this, Winkleman had already approached several other clubs, including Barnet, Q.P.R. and Luton about moving, and none of these is extinct!
- When permission was given for the move, it was agreed by Pete Winkleman personally that the club would not change its name in an attempt to completely shed its former identity, yet in 2004, after refusing to consult fans, he changed the name. In fact, Pete Winkleman had personally registered the web domain MKDons.com in 2000!

They basically go against every footballing princciple that English football (used to) stand for.
