Title: Leeds Season Ticket Prices

LongtonLeeds - January 19, 2008 09:37 PM (GMT)
Leeds released the season ticket prices today for next season and its caused abit of a stir shall we say. Mine is £280 being a student but new applicants, no matter what the age have to pay between £470 cheapest to £650 dearest an increase from £400 last summer. Now after the events of the summer we thought our club was back, it seems we are on the brink of losing it again if we dont get promotion

Now i dont mind too much as mine is cheap for any level of football but £470 for third tier football is shocking. Last summer Mr Bates reduced all the prices and as a result we have averaged 28,000 people and getting over 30k numerous times, the way he pays us back is to do this which also means ticket prices will also rise. IF we dont go up this year attendances at elland road will drop significantly to 15-20,000. Everything that we thought we had got back during the start of the season seems to have been taken away from us again and elland road will be a harsh place to stand and suffer again

Thanks alot for rewarding the undying loyalty that all Leeds United fans gave you when you needed it most in our clubs darkest hour Bates and co. thanks alot

Bates is a f**king t**t. Always hated him, I've no doubt he hates people like us, look what he did to Chelsea, completely got rid of the loyal support (all be it the hooligans can f**k off), replaced them with 'trendy' people.

Feel sorry for you, complete rip off. At Swansea my student ST is £215 and I think an adults in the same stand is £330. Which in comparison is reasonable.

But seeing as they've released it so early there is time to really fight it, hint, hint

Blackcountry Villa - January 19, 2008 09:45 PM (GMT)
My u21's season ticket at Villa is £280, great price

LongtonLeeds - January 19, 2008 09:53 PM (GMT)
My student ticket price is fine at £280 but for new applicants they have to pay full wack for the first season, its not so much my price just the others that has got to me. People will not pay it, he tried to give us some s**t about where the money goes but we couldnt care less, we only want to see the benefits on the pitch

We are used to being f****d about with as leeds fans by the club, police, league, tv...we have just learnt to accept it but to see elland road with 30,000 this year was great, it seems them days will be a distant memory if leeds fans views are anything to go by

That is an absolute outrage.

Sorry to veer off topic, but what have your crowds been like this season? Is it true that you've closed off certain part of the ground? Would like to go to Leeds-Forest if possible, but obviously it's a massive game and just wondering what the chances are of it selling out.

LongtonLeeds - January 20, 2008 12:13 PM (GMT)
I doubt it will sell out especially with it being a tuesday night. You will need to buy straight away though to get the 'cheap' tickets else you may be stuck paying the top end prices in the sides. Im not sure what forest have taken yet but hopefully its the south east and half the south stand, if thats the case get a ticket in the south stand if you want to stand up :o

They have been the best this year for ages. Bates reduced the prices last season from january and we got 27,000+, it carried on this year and have averaged 28,000 getting 30k for millwall, huddersfield and donny (maybe swansea) beating the attendance record for third tier football on the way. Next season people wont pay £470 to watch northampton and MKdons though

BHB - January 20, 2008 07:14 PM (GMT)
That's scandalous!!!

I seriously hope nobody buys them and Elland Road is empty all season. Crowds of no more than 10,000. Please.

LongtonLeeds - January 20, 2008 08:23 PM (GMT)
Yes and that is going to happen :o Leeds fans couldnt organise a pissup in a brewery never mind any sort of protest

People will renew and we will get over 10,000 season ticket holders easily i would have thought...its just new applicants will be less as prices are up £70 even if we stay down

BHB - January 20, 2008 09:49 PM (GMT)
If my ST went up £400 in one season then I'd be handing it back.

Waiting lists and gold dust or not. Passing it onto a mate willing to pay would be a no no. It'd be handed back in with a full reason why and they'd never get another penny off me.

AndrewFFC - January 21, 2008 01:46 AM (GMT)
To put that into perspective, our cheapest ST, for top flight football was 299.

Steve - January 21, 2008 10:50 AM (GMT)
He may have seen after going down only a few new apps came on board. The 18,000 hasrdcore wont go away as they will just re new. Onky should go up when the JCLs come along when u r in the big league

albiontilidie - January 21, 2008 10:58 AM (GMT)
forest fans dont no wat allocation they have been given yet, they would take 5000 if they could, rumour round here is saying it only 800 but i cant see that happening, if they get given enough i reckon i willbe going to this one.

LongtonLeeds - January 21, 2008 01:19 PM (GMT)
They wont get 5000...well they best not anyway. They have a choice of either 1700 in the corner, 2500 in the corner and half the south stand or 3000 with all behind the goal. Thats another thing we got lied to about, bates and wise said away fans WILL NOT have behind the goal at any stage as we will segregate the south stand and give them the corner and SS so they are stuck away somewhere. Instead bates says its too expensive and strangely over the past 12 months the south stand has had away fans or been left empty 5 times and we have lost 6 times at elland road in that time

Wednesday - loss
bury - loss
hereford - loss
oldham - loss
donny - loss

Coincidence ???

I agree though that bates knows we have the core support of around 17,000 who cant get away from it and he knows that if he charges more the loss of money will be made up by those who renew and he doesnt care because less people may result in more money

LongtonLeeds - February 2, 2008 08:21 PM (GMT)
The renewal forms came this week and it already looks as though loads are that pissed off with bates that they are thinking enoughs enough. Next year im seriously worried that we will be getting 16,000 at stupid premierleague prices in league 1.

and to the fan asking about forest...they have 2500 tickets

nick the jack - February 2, 2008 09:01 PM (GMT)
What are people saying in Leeds now about the state of the prices seeing as the team are doing so badly, bet their not happy? This is probably the worst time for Leeds to have announced these hykes, as people are probably thinking of shoving it next season.

LongtonLeeds - February 2, 2008 09:26 PM (GMT)
There will obviously be the core 9/10,000 who will renew no matter what but then most others will just come and go when they please like they did last year. It costs £25 just to pay with your credit card :o

Most leeds fans are that pissed at games though, which tbf is needed most weeks to make it less painful, that they should make them renew as they walk in...taking advantage is the only way  :ph43r:
