Title: Fairy Tale In New York

Radio One have decided to bleep out the word Faggott from this song.
I've just rung them and asked if the N word will simiarily be beeped out from the rap music on the Tim Westwood show, plus will he stop playing songs that are frankly derogatary and demeaning to women...

i hate this bleeping out words to songs. a rapper from london called bashy had his song banned or sumthing because it was called black boys how shockin is that he's black himself how can it be racist he didn't use the N word once neither he was singing about the achievements of black people in Britain

Our country is trouting pathetic!
Really is. When I'm old enough I will definitely be 'jumping ship' - I used to be proud to be English but now I'm a little older and understand things better this just takes the piss.

The thing is radio one took it upon themselves because they 'thought' the word faggot will be offensive to gay people. An interview I saw with a gay man said no gay person he knows would be offended by it.
This is the problem we have in this country people assuming people will be offended.

The BBC Radio One bods have had a rethink (perhaps because of the outcry and 93% of people disagreeing with their censorship) and the song will now be played in full.

What a pity they don't ban most main stream yank rap music and do us all a favour, my ho, my green, my ho, my green, my hoooo shut up.

I hear you mate, problem is that music is extremely popular, no accounting for taste.

Such as?...
You lot wanted equal rights so if songs can be derogatory and offensive to men then surely they can be derogatory and offensive to women eh

For me, nothing beats the music videos where someone sticks their middle finger up and the offending finger is blurred out. I think even ickle innocent kids can figure out the gesture being made...I nearly die laughing at the thought of some little kid turning to drugs, violence, rape, murder and standing up at football matches (crimes listed in order of importance) because of seeing someone raise a digit. Who thinks up this crap?

It's such a tune, they played it last night at a club I was at, had everyone swaying around at 3 in the morning :D

Where can I complain about Century FM playing Fat Bottomed Girls by Queen? My auntie Tracy was in tears bless her.
I reckon the more offensive part is the way they are making out that gays are so over-sensitive that they will take a simple word, one that is used in the social dictionary, to heart. Funnily enough my nicknames faggot and if one of my mates called it me on the street and somebody took it upon themselves to report my mate, I would be offended. Its making out that I cant take someone calling me a name.
Sticks and Stones.
