It's not gonna happen unfortunately.

Why not?
Hatton will win. It wont be pretty, but Hatton will win.

I have no interest in boxing in the main, however I like to watch the big fights (I like the razzmatazz of the whole event tbh) so it would be very hard for me to pick a winner due to boxing skill as I would be talking out of my ar*e.
I would prefer to see Hatton win not because he's English (the blucky Brit against the world yada yada yada) but because of what I know of him personally. He (dispite being a blue) knows a couple of lads I know and they have nothing but praise for his attitude and down to earth nature (one of the lads often goes jogging on the same route as him). Compared to what I've seen of the other fella i.e. a gobsh*te.
However Hatton wants to have a look at how tickets in the hands of his employees (technically) have been divided out as from what I've heard it's far from ideal.
tbh so long as two fellas get to knock seven shades out of each other for the entertainment of millions long may it continue.

I hope he kills the salmon! Hatton's a legend and I think he can do it and will do it. Only problem if they were to fight tomorrow Hatton would murder him, has Hatton peaked to early, he looks ready to fight NOW the fight is a couple of weeks away yet hope Ricky can keep up the pace and perform on the night!

The lads are all going round to my mates house for the fight, should be a great great fight.

In two minds;
Simple one after the Derby game head home for some scran then down to my mates to watch it or
The game, then town, then the Brown gig, then back to another mates house for the fight.
I'm heading over to the first one mainly because I'll be out my tree or sock on by the time the fight rolls up

I can beat that - we're having our football christmas do that night so...
...play football in the morning then straight to pub for about 12 for a couple, head down to the pub to meet the lads for pre-match, few in the pub after the game, walk into town and meet up for the christmas do (over £500 worth of free drinks!) and then somehow try to be in a fit state to watch the fight having been drinking solidly for the previous 15 hours!

I'm on a roll, last ten bets have all won including a great Croatia at 9-1.
Always bet against the english...lol.

I may have watched it on a net stream and as I have said I know bugger all about boxing but it became obvious to me from around the 5th that unless Ricky got a decent barrage in he was stufffed. The yank may be a gobsh*te but he just looked calm and relaxed throughout hardly looked like he tried when he was doing his speach after not a mark on him.
On another note I do love the yank build up to things like this, I believe it is a time for razz matazz. The 24/7 series they should before the match for a couple of hours was very good.

Hatton is a great boxer but Maywether is up there with the very best of all time, that check hook he hit Hatton with was one of the best punches I have been fortunate enough to see, to be fair to Hatton he stepped out of his wieght class (again) fought in America against a man who has beaten the best the world has to offer, his tactics were spot on but Maywether was just too good.

Too gung-ho in my opinion. I said he would go in angry, swinging and would make mistakes and that Mayweather would be too clever for him which is what happened
BWA_Ultra - December 10, 2007 01:57 PM (GMT)
He admitted he should have, saved a bit more energy for the end of rounds as this was when Mayweather caught the eyes of the judges and probably won a few rounds in.
marvin - December 11, 2007 10:26 AM (GMT)
i was a bit disappointed in hatton's gameplan to be honest. he clearly needed to knock him out because mayweather is technically a better boxer but he was never going to achieve this by steaming in and trying to hit him in the mush with every shot - only hope he had was to work his body/arms to hopefully tire him a bit, make him drop his guard a little and give him an opening for the big KO. Bit amateur for me ricky - but still, real shame.
BWA_Ultra - December 11, 2007 03:27 PM (GMT)
Who's next for Hatton then you reckon?
De la Hoya?
Light Welterweight rival Witter?
or one of the many many other Welterweight belts?
