Maybe a player that scored 100's of goals but still cost less than john terrys weekly wage

Who's your clubs best bargain buy of the last 10 years?

As if! Tottenham don't do value-for-money signings!

Carrick probably our shrewdest signing in recent years, but he was already an established player when he arrived.

Juan Sebastian Veron

BWA_Ultra - November 6, 2007 01:20 PM (GMT)
Jamie Cureton free transfer summer 2006 scored 23(i think goals) top scorer in Division 2 and then sold for £800k to little Norwich.

Yes FREE TRANSFER

no-one will beat this lol

No-one will beat this one, fact.

Ivan Sproule for £5000! Yes, 5 grand. He made 94 appearences and scored 18 goals and countless number assists. Got a hatrick versus Rangers in one game, scored against them and Celtic in another game (Hibs winning both them BTW).

The guy was a legend.

Im unsure about anybody we bought except for Joey Jones. Most players we pay money for turn out tench. Im in 2 minds on whether Carlos Edwards was a good signing. He became a legend here and one of the best players I've ever witnessed in a town shirt but the £250,000 we paid for him practically set us up for administration as we werent making profit anyway, so minus £250,000 and ur trouted.

Easter for £80 k scored 24 for us last season - then became a prick not wanting to play for us after we snubbed a £350k offer for him- got shafted and will end up gettign just £210k for him from Plymouth in Jan.
Tyson was a great buy from Reading for £100k - sold for £675k later after proving he was great scoring 13 in 14 games now at Forest.

I'm not a Reading(booooo) fan but Kevin Doyle has got to be the greatest bargain of all time. They managed to get him for less than 80k and hes amazing!

berbatov. gonna make at least 15mill when he goes

nick the jack - November 10, 2007 10:01 AM (GMT)
The legendry Lee Trundle. Signed on a free in 2003, scored 20+ goals in the 4 seasons he was here. The first player of true quality I've seen play for Swansea. He gave us hope after 20 years of terrible, going no where football.

Mark AFC - November 10, 2007 02:05 PM (GMT)
King Kolo, Paddy and Cesc

Tom - Leigh RMI - November 14, 2007 01:57 PM (GMT)
Has to be Stevie Jones, bought on a free from an Irish club, got us into the conference then helped us upto 5th in our first season in the conference before Crewe came on for 75k for him in 2001. He had a clause in his contract that we would get 25% of his next transfer fee, shame he moved to Burnley on a bloody free.
